Default St. Charles

We will be closing on a CYV on Juneberry Ave. in St Charles on Feb. 9th. One of those who bought on the first look @ TV after many "Sun City" type visits. Lots of new houses & still building. There seem to be some full time residents, but hard to tell with only a brief visit. As ex-boaters we have Happy Hour down pat, but have the usual questions on cable/Internet/what's easy to get to, etc. Any input appreciated.

A friend of ours moved into St Charles in December. She spent three weeks getting the run-around from Comcast on a package of phone-tv-internet until finally calling the local Comcast office who told her Comcast phone was not available in St Charles just yet. She ended up with a package from Embarq for something like $93 per month for all three services.
(FYI: TV with Embarq is by satellite dish).

If you are golfers sign up for the priority asap and the internet scheduling. I think we sighned up for priority golf before we unpacked our sheets.

Default welcome

We closed on our cyv at 1790 Huckleberry on Dec 23. We spent a week at Christmas and MLK weekend. Minimal furniture but glad to be there. We will be up the middle of Feb to lay a wood floor and will move in the first week in June. Welcome to the neighborhood.

Default Moving to St Charles in August 2009

I will be moving to Dove Hollow Run in August. I will be using Embarq for telephone and DSL. TV will be from DirecTV. If anyone uses these services, how would you rate them?

I have Embarq for telephone and DSL since Oct 2007. No problems with phone--DSL has been "down" on at least 3-4 occasions since that time--the longest I think was around 8 hours. I called them on each occasion and there was a recording on the phone verifying that they were aware of the problem. Have Comcast for TV so can't comment on the Direct. Good luck in your new home.

Welcome Clod....we closed on our CYV on Foliage Lane (Hydrangea Villas) on the 10th of June....still unpacking...with luck that will be done in a year or so...

after much consideration we decided to go with Comcast TV and internet as a start...i was real interested in Dish or Direct TV...but that 24 month committment just scared the heck out of me.....we plan to use MagicJack and our cell phones for our phone calls

its exciting being in the new neighborhood....not all that many of use here yet but its nice to see the place grow and new neighbors move in every day

we are not boaters..but rather golfers...but trust me....golfers know all about happy hour

good luck on your move...hope to be able to meet you.....any other questions...this is the place to ask

Have you started using the Magic Jack yet? If so does it work well? We too plan to use cell and Magic Jack but are interested in hearing some feedback on how well it works. Plan to use Comcast for TV & Internet at least until we get all settled and have time to research all the other options. We are in St Charles on Reedy Creek

tankdvr and other new folks:

Take full advantage of the fact that you and all your neighbors are new here. You can create a special bond between yourselves that'll help make everything you do in TV just that more fun and unique.

There are 16 houses on my street. All but one of them was occupied within about six months of each other. Consequently, we spent lots of time discussing where one went to get this, or that, whom to use to accomplish this chore or that. Now, four-plus years later, we get together and party at least once a month, sometimes more often! Someone goes away for a vacation, the others know ehere, when and why. But, the others also come and pick up the paper, check things out. If the vacationer has a pet, there's a neighbor who'll come take care of it.

I couldn't have asked for a better neighborhood!
