Re: Essential Activities - here's a snippet from the governor's order. Where does it explicitly prohibit golf?

It does mention other things that some have asked about here:

You can be sure "walking, running, bicycling, hiking, walking the dog" as well as other unmentionable indoor, outdoor solo & couple activities will all be permitted as they are in every other locked down state even NYC (although they did just close all public playgrounds). And don't worry folks, I'd bet 2 electoral votes you can still buy your guns.

One is still allowed to walk ( by oneself or with members of the same household), walk your dog. You can get fresh air and practice social distancing. Hiking would probably not recommend, probably good social distancing but if you have an issue getting help might be a problem. You can go to grocery store, pick up prescriptions and take let to vet if needed. Just limit and no unnecessary trips. You can go help family member if an emergency. It is really common sense.

My Dad,at Buffalo Crossings, with dementia can understand why this is necessary. I am glad for the order. My only concern right now is I hope he doesn't figure out he can voice order from Amazon via Alexa. Stay safe.

Default Golf is just walking or carting with sticks

Don't see why golf is different from walking or riding in a cart, provided social distance is maintained.

CDC recommends outdoor activities. Fresh air and sunshine are good for body and soul. Lots can be done safely - dog walking, bike or cart riding, a car ride, etc.

I fear too many will interpret "stay-at-home" to mean barricade yourselves inside. It really means doing what responsible adults have already been doing - avoiding contact with potentially infected people and washing your hands after touching potentially contaminated objects. Carefully maintain social distance but enjoy the outdoors!

Perhaps if people had listened to the initial advisory instead of behaving like spoiled children at summer camp who sneak out in the night, this might not have been necessary.

And I'm sure you realize that for the people who have chosen to ignore the precautions long since laid out, this new "order" will make no difference at all.

Living equidistant between SS and LSL, I walk my dog or ride my bicycle to do my grocery shopping.

Therefore, pooping and exercising are permitted.

Sadly you’re more than likely correct but now there is some “teeth in the game” that may make them think a little.

They won't be playing golf here. DeSantis and DaFamily are joined at the hip.

Don't be surprised if this is soon amended to include golf. I think this will happen.

Clarification will be needed. The order has a list of exempted activities, even used the term "such as". If "DeSantis and DaFamily are joined at the hip", then golf will be on the list.

Why are people so obsessed with chasing a ball around on grass?

People are dying and in misery and they worry about a game?
