When we filed, in April 2018 in Connecticut for our 2017 tax year, we filed electronically. We got a refund electronically deposited to our accounts.

When we filed, in April 2019 in Connecticut for our 2018 tax year, we filed by mail and NOT electronically because we had to get help from AARP, our situation was too complicated to do it ourselves. We had to pay, and paid by check.

When we filed, two weeks ago, in Florida, for our 2019 tax year - of which 10 months were spent residing in Connecticut and 2 months residing in our new home in Florida - we filed electronically and we owe. We will be paying by check at some point before the delayed deadline.

When I look up my status, I try first with my current address, it says it can't determine eligibility. I try next with my previous address, and get the same message.

I'm assuming we'll get a paper check at some point, eventually, but the website doesn't offer any way for us to find out.

Same here. With no way to "update" bank info. Since we owed the last four years, they cannot accept the bank info they took the money from. Go figure.

I prepared and filed a 2019 tax return for a friend who owed money. I included the bank information on the return and the IRS collected it electronically. But, when I went to check the stimulus money status a few weeks later, there was no bank information, but there was a data page that allowed me to enter the AGI and the bank information. The next day, the IRS site said that the stimulus money will be deposited into the bank electronically, and included the last 4 digits of the bank account that I had entered the day before.

Same experience here.

Thanks. I think the difference being is that our deduction isn’t scheduled until July.

I am getting very frustrated with the portal on the irs.gov website where I am supposed to be able to enter our direct deposit information. I go to irs.gov and click get my payment and input the required information and I get the message "Payment Status Not Available". I have tried several times over the last few days and just keep getting the same message over and over, and the only option available after I get the message is to click the EXIT tab, and start the same worthless loop again. And to think that some people want the government to run our entire health care system when they can't even make a portal on a website work correctly? Go figure?

Sorry you're having trouble. I used this link to check my status, which seems to be working.

Here's what the FAQ has to say:

The Get My Payment application will return "Payment Status Not Available" for several reasons, including:

1. You are required to file a tax return, but:
We haven't finished processing your 2019 return
The application doesn't yet have your data

2. You don't usually file a return, and you used Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info Here but we haven’t processed your entry yet

3. You receive an SSA or RRB Form 1099 or SSI or VA benefits; information has not yet been loaded onto our systems for people who don’t normally file a tax return.

4. You’re not eligible for a payment.

We update Get My Payment data once per day, overnight so there is no need to check more often. If you are eligible for a payment and have provided your information either through a recent tax return or the Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info Here application, please check back for updates.

You are absolutely correct, because I am living it. Here is the problem. None of the 4 reasons listed in the FAQ section, which you replicated above, are relevant to me. And I have checked back now for several days in a row only to get the same dam message. The portal seems to work for some, but definitely not for others.

I’m getting the same message. I filed our 2019 taxes last February and we didn’t have to pay. There is no place to,show that you didn’t get a refund. They only have got refund or owed taxes. In 2018 we got a refund and when I used that it said didn’t have information. Will our check be mailed even though the past years we got refunds and had direct deposit. This is the first year we didn’t have to pay or get a refund. Help please.

Maybe I can help. I participate in a financial forum. This issue was brought up by someone who had the excess tax he paid applied to next year’s tax. So, no refund, no tax to be debited. Posters who know much more than I do, said that when code was written, this situation wasn’t considered.

So...IRS will mail your check. When? no one had an answer. I think you just need to wait.

delima2000 04-24-2020 05:00 PM

That’s what I thought I will get the check mailed. Thank you. I feel a little better. Just needed someone else to direct me as I was going crazy on the web site.

FINALLY today I got the result "You are eligible but we don't have bank information, please click here to submit bank information if you want it electronically deposited."

(note: it didn't say exactly that, that's just the general idea)

Prior to today, it only said it couldn't tell whether or not I was eligible, and no option to provide bank info.

So we'll be getting the deposit soon, I hope!
