Is anyone aware of a facility where we can store our golf cart over the summer and fall? Looking for reasonably priced options. Thanks.

Did you find someplace? I am interested in renting space in my garage for very little. creichbaum1@gmail.com.

It is a gas golf cart. These are very good questions. We have never owned a golf cart before. So, I need to do some golf cart long time storage research. The 10 by 10 unit is a good suggestion. Thx.

I put stabilizer in the fuel tank, a tender on the battery and fill the tires to 25#.

Cuz maybe it's none of our business? Some folks just read a question and answer it without judgement or delving into irrelevant drivel. Unfortunately, that happens far to infrequently here.

In my career, I have worked in multiple positions where I frequently would have someone ask "how to do X", but then when you ask them why they "want to do X", you discover that they really don't need to do X, and should be doing Y instead.

Do you have the mindset that if someone asked where they could rent a pressure washer to wash their bedroom carpets, would it be better to just blindly answer, or maybe present a follow-up question?

The problem with renting a 10x10 storage unit is that you would most likely have to trailer the cart to/from the storage unit since it’s outside the bubble. When storing the cart make sure it has a full tank of ethanol free gas, put a trickle charger on the battery, and leave the sunbrella enclosure down. If you do those simple things all you should have to do when returning is check/add air to the tires, remove the trickle charger, and roll up the enclosure. You might notice the flat spots that form on the tires from not being used while away, but after driving a mile or so those will smooth out. Good luck

What?

Be careful, you might come back in January and have no golf car. You are much safer with a storage unit except it will get extremely hot in there during the summer months unless you want to pay for a temp. controlled unit but they usually don't have outside access and it won't fit through a walk in door.

No, I'm not of that mindset. I'm of the mindset that I compare apples to apples. If someone says that they need a storage area, it's none of my business why they need it. But then, I have a life and don't spend it sitting on a message board second guessing every sentence that's typed.

This is a problem in society and in TV in general. A homeowner will say they need something that costs over $2000 replaced and people/scammers like you would say "OK" and just do it instead of putting any effort to explore a better option like a $100 repair. Lazy mentality.

I'm trying to help the OP, you're trying to prevent that.

We store ours in our garage year round. Have never had an issue leaving them there.

bowlingal 01-11-2024 07:01 AM

make sure you have a plan to get the cart to where you are going to store it. Some of these places, it can't be driven
