Covid19 can remain on plastic three days. The newspapers come in plastic sleeves. I don’t care if it’s free or not, it not a good idea to bring it into your home. I canceled mine.

Default Just the facts !!!

I would be in favor of this if they would publish just the facts and not the feel good news that is typically all that is in it.

I agree...WHY? It us a total waste of paper. Last time we subscribed it was only 8 cents a copy. On line...could be considered a public service, but since there is nothing going on in TV, what are they writing about, anyway? District notifications via email seem to provide necessary updates.

Let them subscribe like the rest of us do. Personally I am sick and tired of everyone thinking The Villages somehow owes them something just because we live here. That is an entitlement mentality we can do without.

Subscribed to it when we moved here two months ago and still find it of some interest even though the longer we get it the faster we go thru it.

There are many people in our community that do not subscribe to TVDS for various reasons. Thus, they are missing out on critical public health information. This endangers all the community. Thus, the powers-that-be at TVDS could provide a public service by providing online and/or physically delivered newspapers during the pandemic.

P.S. I am a paid TVDS subscriber.
Any written source of information is history . . . . . welcome to the 21st Century where news is instantaneously broadcast over the airways, via cable and through satellite.

Just another thought comes to mind, the too frequent use of vulgarity. Using this nasty word only as the example, the word “FREE” should be ban from social discourse. That word is a reminder of the suffering and enslavement it has caused countless others and is the gateway to losing freedom.

I think that all newspapers should be free. Let the advertising pay all of the costs.

Having said that, I would rather see all newspapers stop distribution as the coronavirus can stay on paper for a long time.

Why not just eliminate all of the costs of paper, ink and printing and just put them online free with ads?

Following your logic, I think all people who play the guitar should henceforth perform for "free."

Default The Villages Daily Sun

To be absolutely safe, and recognizing the process is mostly automated, the newspaper subscription should be frozen to avoid touching something that has been touched by human hands.

Wow, what a bunch of angry negative BS. The OP was simply making a suggestion and you jump all over them as if only you are correct. On one hand you say why take away money for the employees then on the other hand you spew hatred for the VDS. Enough already. This thread should be closed.
