I like Paddock square for listening to music and dancing. I really like the bleachers, though we don’t plan on sitting in the high season.
There are groups that cater to the “south of 60” folks. I like American Martian, the Hooligans, Chuck Barrios, And Second Slice. I’m sure there are others. However, I think they should have the floor seating right in front of the stage for a few rows with the dancing behind it. Right now, for folks to see or take pictures they tend to stand right in front of the stage, and there is a lot of jostling going on for people to get a better view, usually causing people to stomp on the plants in front of the stage. Seating would allow those folks that get to the square early the opportunity to see the band, and save the plants. As one who loves to dance, I’m happy to be a bit farther back, and can see over the folks in the seats. |

....more shade, organic or artificial
I'm trying to think of a tourist attraction or street where you can walk in the shade in front of stores and restaurants. Does anyone know any? https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...e-emir-d08.jpg [testing the image] |

Retail space rentals in TV are about the same as in any of the modern malls...open air or closed.
As far as TV getting their cut. A totally misunderstood concept and how it is applied here in TV. The rents and developer cuts are always the excuse every business that went out of business uses. Remember the rents and any other expenses are all spelled out and agreed to long before they sign on the line. So how can there be a complaint about a KNOWN cost to the business. Way off topic but I have a hard time letting this subject pass without commenting. Subject for another thread. |

I believed from the " Rumors " floating around that the Villages got a certain % at xyz break point ....not so. I asked one of the owners of Red Sauce and he filled me in on the truth. Bottom Line ask the owner. Footnote: Whatever the establishment is if it's good...everyone wins. Actually when ya get down to it, it is an agreement between the owner and the occupant so what purpose is served by stirring up unfounded facts. Basically mind your own business |

[QUOTE=EnglishJW;1524031]Given the explosion of growth in the southern areas of The Villages, I think there are a number of things we need for Paddock Square and the Brownwood area.
For starters, we should have at least one Market Night. It would be great to add a water feature of some sort. There is a lake in the middle and a pool with fountains in the north. Both the north and middle have little streams as well. It would be nice to add something in the south (maybe building upon the popularity of Larry). Of course, we need more retail. Personally, we would love to see more restaurants like a Panera Bread (just like the other two squares), a Bonefish Grill and maybe a Carabbas. While 44 is gradually showing signs of life, it would be great to have more shopping to eliminate some of the traveling all of us southerners have to do. My wife wants a Michaels (or Joanns or Hobby Lobby or AC Moore). A Trader Joe's and a Costco would be nice. What would you like to see or add? Real Simple and inexpensive: A " Hot Dog Stand " 7 days a week ( Nathans ) of course .:a040: |
