Hi folks,

When living in the Sumter County section of the Villages, south of 44, what local news do you get on TV? Orlando or Tampa Bay?

Do you get all the Tampa Bay Buccaneers games like you would living in Tampa Bay or would I need a special sports package for that?

Orlando news stations and most Tampa Bay Bucs games are on regular TV

You will get virtually NO local (aka Villages) news, you will get Orlando and Ocala and surrounding areas, this is the same for Over the air antennas or cable, no idea on satellite providers. As for local sports, we follow hockey and need to get an additional package, note sure about other sports or providers.

If you have Spectrum cable they have a news station that covers TV is something ever happens that is newsworthy. The used to have a resident reporter but he is no longer employed. I think COMCAST has a Villages specific station. Most of the Orlando and Tampa stations follow the usual format, killings, robberies, one good news story, Orlando/Tampa local weather and Florida sports. While Orlando stations claim they cover Central Florida they usually stop at Lake.
