Just another vote/opinion: Spent time in both places and agree with all comments. The lack of "sound" infrastructure/services was the clincher.

There is an HOA in The Villages but it seems to be the Developer's cheerleader and has no powers. There is also Property Owners Association that is a real watchdog for the residents. Hope this helps. |
We spent almost 5 yrs visiting various retirement communities in and around Central FL. I was really interested and excited to visit Sun City because I liked its close proximity to the beach and the fine dining and cultural events you can find in the nearby Tampa. Unfortunately we found the place to be to be sort of depressing. While there was some new housing that was lovely, most areas were much older and some were starting to look pretty run down. Amenities, shopping and restaurants were pretty limited. I don't mean to put down either activity, but DH dubbed it a "bingo and canasta community" rather than an "active lifestyle" community like TV.

...wonder about SC's health care availability using golf cart transportation...

even a new SC is basically the same. A clubhouse, pool, golf course...when you see TV you will know the difference...TV has movie theaters, restaurants, shopping....
depends what you want |
What about TV foreclosures. Where would I find them?

Gracie, I'm beginning to think ill be wasting my time there. After researching online before I posted here, I felt that the community might be a bit slower for us and as strange as it might seem most all of the views here match our thoughts exactly!
