Went to get car washed at Sweetwater at Trailwinds yesterday, There were no cloths in the trays at the vacuums to wipe down car. After walking to the office, I and others were advised that to get the cloths we had to leave our divers license, write down our name and phone number and the number of cloths we were using. After returning the cloths, we could have our license back.
Go there every few weeks and this is apparently their new policy.
I am not giving some kid i do not know my drivers license. They said it is due to the cloths being stolen. Needs to be a better way. Will not go back there

Bring an old towel

Drive fast after leaving the car wash.

Easy solution, bring your own larger cloths.

Throw one (or keep one in your vehicle) It’s much easier. And Sweetwater was the only car wash I’ve ever been to that even supplied them. Love that car wash and their unlimited wash plans.

Mr Clean has them neext to wawa Leesburg

Take note of the sign that describes items that they are not responsible for. The small fin shaped item on the rear roof is not covered if knocked off. A friend of mine had that happened to him and it cost him over $700 to have it replaced because they told him that all of the electronics had to be replaced along with it.

Good for them. Why would I drive to Leesburg when I have SW minutes from my house, just so I could use a towel. Good grief. The stuff people b$#@# about!

It is mind-boggling, isn't it.

Wouldn't it be a better business decision to just sell the rags?

You mean like the rags you can literally buy at any store or online?

I’ve used car washes for years. Never had the luxury of towels available for customers.
Usually a vending machine to purchase towels.

Strongly agree. Seems such a simple answer (and one that might help them retain, not loose, customers) to ask for an alternative to a D. L. SHOWING is one thing, asking to keep a D.L. out of the sight of the owner.... does not seem like a good policy when a $5, or several other options would do. But, everyone has the right to run their business their way !

They can’t disclaim negligence no matter what the sign says. Sue in small claims court

I have to say it's not that big a deal, if water spots matter that much then you should be washing by hand, otherwise bring your own towels. Also makes me wonder why anyone that would want to wipe their car down would even trust towels left by the car wash to use.... again do it yourself.

good answer, you never know what grime is on their towels even after coming out the wash.
