We've been with Sprint/Tmobile for 25 years. Coverage is good in most places but not as good as Verizon, or so I keep hearing. Overall we're happy with the coverage and pricing. 4 phones with unlimited minutes and data are $150 month on the 55+ plan with military discount. Great deal in my opinion.

Ooops, a typo - MVNO.

We have 3 phones on our plan for $69.11/mo. Unlimited calls & texts, 10 GB shared data. We have 5G coverage in most areas on the T-mobil network. Unlimited data is available for $20 more per month. We have never used over 5 GB data in a month. Our plan is with Consumer Cellular. You can choose a SIM card from AT&T or T-Mobil. AARP gets a 5% discount. No contract. One other thing to think about is porting your phone number. Most companies will port for free There's no fee to transfer your number to T-Mobile, and it gets even better! With Carrier Freedom, T-Mobile will pay early termination fees or device payments for up to five lines that are currently under a postpaid contract with AT&T or Verizon.

There is a senior (over 55) plan now available with T-mobile that I've read about. We use Verizon now and it seems like it would be about a $40. per month savings for us. Netflix is included. I was wondering if any of you have made the switch and what you think about the service? We are about to become snowbirds.
thanks to all,

We've been on TMobile for what seems like ever. We are on the military plan, however even the 55+ plan is almost the same - bottom line on TMobile it doesn't get any lower than $40 a line and yes they pay my netflix account of which the transfer of who is paying Netflix was easy and seamless.

I have TMobile for personal phone and Verizon for work phone and I have had far better service from TMobile.

hope that helps

I'm in Fenney and switched to T-Mobile when I moved here 3+ years ago.
1. The signal is very good including 5G. This appears to be true around the Villages.
2. The price is good: $70 all in including taxes.
Includes MLB (as it has for several years)
Includes Netflix (one device at a time)
3. Very good if you travel to Europe and other areas.
Unlimited texting and data in 210+ countries & destinations.
No international data-roaming charges
It was great on a cruise when you get into port, T-Mobile welcomes you.
4. T-Mobile Tuesday app. Each week, T-Mobile offers you discounts on different items.
1. Every week: 10 cents off a gallon of Shell
2. Discounts on hotels and car rentals.
3. Fast food: This weed was a free Breakfast Baconator with purchase at Wendys.

That's all I can think of... Hope it helps.

I’ve had the T-Mobile 55 plan tor about 5 years … it’s unlimited talk text & data on 2 lines! It’s a great plan and I have great service! Customer service is wonderful also!

Does MVNO work overseas and what if you have AT&T is it restricted to T-mobile network

Signal strength/coverage is mandatory when traveling if you are using your phone for GPS. I used ATT before Verizon and just going 20 miles outside of Atlanta or other decent size towns, you would get no coverage. I have been on Verizon's 55+ plan for many years and pay $40 a month per line plus taxes for unlimited everything.

I've had similar experiences with ATT. As snowbirds we need coverage everywhere and VZ does it. We are on the 55+ plan with taxes our bill is about $94.88 each month. When we first signed up this past winter we also received 3 months free of Discovery+

An MVNO is a reseller of network services. They buy chunks of service from the big guys, Verizon, ATT, TMobile and resell it.

Mint Mobile, which uses the T-Mobile network, works overseas. Check their website for the list of countries. You need to add money to your account, via their website, for roaming charges.

T-Mobil is Deutsche Telecom, a German company. It thus works perfectly in Europe. We have had it for years. Two phones unlimited data, $70 / month.

I switched my family plan to T-Mobile 4 years ago. Pay $147 for 8 lines including free Netflix. Taxes and fees included. I did get 2 of those lines on a BOGO promotion. I needed another line 2 weeks ago but am maxed out so I got the prepaid T-Mobile Connect for $15/month + fees. However if you I use a T-Mobile gift card to prepay then no taxes and fees.

Loved using it overseas. Free data was usable. On occasion I got 4G speeds.

I use WiFi calling at home since reception isn't great near Savannah Center. Reception in The Villages has improved compared to 4 years ago. I expect it will continue to get better.
