The tax bill can make you money. Many credit cards give you a large reward if you spend x$ in 1st three months. Far exceeds the 2.5 %, plus you get the 1% or 2% additional for using the card.

I am getting $800 bonus cashback for using new credit cards.

Been doing that for years. Pretty much run out of card offers. :) Have to wait 2yrs after cancel to
get the same card again. Lot's of sites devoted to that "hobby."

Data Point: Sometimes those kinds of payments (taxes) hit your card as a cash advance and cost FAR MORE than 2.5%. It depends on how their credit card processor codes it. I got clobbered on an auto-insurance payment a couple years ago.

This idea of super low Real Estate Taxes depends on where you came from. Our old house was two story, brick, two car garage with the third bay made into a movie theater when we had it built, four bedrooms, 2 and a half baths, office and full basement on over four acres, and tax bill was half as here.

We also did not pay water sewer trash collection as we had our own well and septic and took our little bit of trash onch a week to the Convenience center.

So, not cheaper for all. Remember you Yankees why your taxes were high, you voted in people who spent too much.

Once the build out in Sumter County is complete watch the taxes begin an upward trend.

New residents add to the revenue but once it levels offs expenses will continue upward and...........

In some counties around the nation school taxes are waived for retirees who have reached 65
