IMHO the OP is probably right - they pulled up, didn't like the looks of things, and left. I can't imagine why everyone thinks this to be so bizarre. People make judgement calls of each other everyday eventhough we all learned not to judge a book by its cover.
And yes they were rude for not calling, but that is not suprising if they in fact made a snap judgement that they didn't want to buy from the OP probably thinking they weren't worthy of a cancellation call. Sorry to paint such an ugly picture, but it's a reality in my mind. So you probably think I'm as crazy as the OP?!?!?!?! |

i have gotten lost over there more than once just looking for the golf course and turned around in someones drive...so maybe it was not them...don't be upset maybe wife wanted it and husband say where are you going to put it, and they just never came...i have waited for possible renters to show up and never made it, i just cross the off my list...

Sad that you would refer to your home as trailer trash, don't ever let someones actions affect the way you think of yourself, I'm sure you worked hard for what you have

Was the chair a POS, sitting out in your yard?
Was it over priced?:22yikes::boom: |
I can certainly appreciate that the OP was angry at being stood-up. I can also appreciate the assumption that the folks in the turning car/golf cart in her driveway were leaving because they didn't like what they saw.
All that said, I would like to tell the OP this...venting is fine, but if you want to vent, think 5 times before posting it on TOTV. While you may find some posts sympathetic to you, more likely than not you'll find posters ready to jump down your proverbial throat. Just a caution... |

No. not me! |
I have no idea whether Dale was right in his assumptions, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was. I've heard the historic side called the "trailer park" side, the "dinosaurs", the "poor side". People's perceptions of manufactured homes is not always pretty and is frequently very wrong.
Whether the couple who turned around in the driveway were the potential purchasers or not, it was very rude of them to not call and apologize for not showing up. Hope they have the grace to do at least send you a PM. |

Those might not have been the people who said they were coming to look at the stuff for sale!! It could have been a different couple, looking for a house listed for sale in the newspaper and were looking at house numbers for that reason. Maybe they had to turn around because they didn't find a different house they were looking for!
Besides that, who gives a rip if somebody doesn't like "manufactured" homes? If the owners and neighbors like them, that's all that matters!! |
I hsve no idea if your assumption as any merit, but there are always going to be snobs no matter where you live. We even have a club south of 466 that excludes any Villagers north of 466 from joining.
