I would not. But if others wanted to, knock yourself out.

Back to the OP's original post. Maybe there was contact tracing on the people who died and there was a direct link to another who had tested positive for CV.

Here is the gist of an article by Newsweek today, August 25, 2020 which ought to give everyone something to think about:

An outbreak of 60 coronavirus cases has been linked to a Maine wedding held August 7 in Millinocket, the York County jail in Alfred, and the Maplecrest Rehab Center in Madison, Maine.

A staff member at the jail attended the wedding reception, later testing positive. The jail is located 230 miles from the wedding and has a total of 18 cases among staff and inmates. The Rehab Center, 140 miles from Millinocket, has also been linked to the wedding reception and has four residents and two staff members so far testing positive. Of the 60 cases associated with the wedding, 83% of those have shown symptoms. The article further notes that mask-wearing was not widespread at the reception.

Choro&Swing, thanks for posting about your girl friend's parents. How awful for her and them and especially since they thought they were being safe.

YOU ARE CORRECT THERE IS NO AND I REPEAT PROOF THAT ANYONE CAUGHT THE VIRUS FROM AN INANIMATE OBJECT -- hello -- just not true -- need a vector and host -- not a doorknob

[QUOTE=ts12755;1822837]What you wrote is the dumbest thing I've ever seen on this site. Everyone catches it from someone that had it.[/QUOTE

If it was so dumb, why do they (Health Dept.) continue to publish that information? I know someone in Texas who got it and they haven't figured out how. Nobody he knows has it. You also posted that you've had it. Do you know who from or where you got it? If so, please warn us so we can stay away.

I then go by one of the Bar's in Sumter Landing and see the many who are not using 6 feet distance and don't have a mask on! Either they have not seen the statistics regarding the risks of that behavior or don't care. It may be really smart to think twice when you throw out the suggestions for control of your behavior?:ohdear:

How else does one become infected if not by contact with another human?

Extremely rare to become infected by touching a surface.

While I understand that the obvious primary mode of transmission is person-to-person, I've yet to read anything recent that getting it from an object is "extremely rare."

What I keep seeing is a bit of waffling, with non-specific statements like this.

"It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes. This is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads, but we are still learning more about how this virus spreads."
