They were wearing gloves. Honestly I'm surprised they could tell skin color at all. It looks like they were covered from their hoodies to their shoes, plus masks and gloves.

Very possible, but all /we/ can go by is what's in the report. And based on the report, there's no reason why any of /us/ should be jumping to conclusions, or wondering how someone or cameras can tell what color they are. We don't have access to enough information to even ask that question.

I doubt that this was conjecture. Would people be reluctant to think they were white?

Jewelry store? How could they not have spent a couple of bucks for a camera? Two skinny guy and a fat guy? They should split up or pick up a villager. One skinny guy?
One skinny guy and a fat guy. One skinny guy with and old guy or gal? You/we could go right past them and not know it.

I'm no Kojak, but I suspect they got the descriptions of the 3 suspects from a store security camera...

Looks like? Did you see pics anywhere?

They could guess at skin color. I suppose the jewelry store would have some lights on inside at night. A good defense lawyer though would have a field day with these descriptions. Even a bad one probably.

Well, those are simply the "published" descriptions...

Pedantics again...fine.

It seems like. One might consider the possibility that. Perhaps.

"Looks like" is an expression, in addition to a statement of visual observation. Blind people use this expression sometimes to express that perhaps some evidence provided about a thing, could lead one to believe a particular possibility.

Maybe audio was the clue to the skin color. World of Beer now this.

I hope Law Enforcement & those in charge of TV Security are able to brainstorm something to discourage more of this and prevent TV from becoming targeted as "easy pickins' " for crime. Not sure what that may be, given how brazen thieves are becoming nationwide. I do recall that when I once took a late-night 'Workman' transport from MCO to Brownwood about 1am, the majority of the Square was VERY dark. Just a thought but maybe at minimum some extremely bright motion sensor floodlights on the Squares' streets with Security personnel monitoring via the safety of indoor cameras so they do not risk being shot in a confrontation?

I hope I am overreacting.

I feel awful for this store owner. If it's the same store I visited last year, it was stocked with beautiful new inventory and irreplaceable estate pieces on consignment that these thieves can only sell for pennies on the dollar.

I haven't paid attention but I wonder if any of the stores in Villages retail spaces have those sliding security doors inside that they would close at night. Maybe they are not allowed as they might give the wrong signal to potential buyers here. If that's the case I would think there will be more of the same happening around town in the future now that they seem to have gotten away with this one. My guess, and it's only based on a feeling that I have is these 3 are not from the area, maybe from Orlando, Tampa, or the coastal areas and that they are experienced.

My question is, what would the police have done if they had arrived during the robbery?

Because the Morse family owns the local paper , crime might deter people from moving here.

Sometimes common sense and real danger have to trump politically correct directives. And ignore some of these new "directives" and this new "religion" that tells us what to think and what to say.

I don't care what color a person is that has the lack of morals to steal things from someone's legitimate and ethical business. I care that they are caught and stopped. If they have a description tell it and show it and distribute it throughout the State.
