Toilet paper is being hoarded? Maybe they are preparing for hurricane season.

[QUOTE=TexaninVA;1733473]Actually, common sense is to be prepared well in advance and, as a general rule, all times. Most of the panic is from those who never thought they're be a problem like this.[/QUOTE
So on the other side price gouging should be okay with you. Common sense is to be prepared and get it while you can without regards to anyone else. But then you would want us to help you and feel for you if you get down and out. |

Stores opening early so seniors can get in early is kind of a joke in this area

First, I'm opposed to price gouging. Second, if one take preparatory steps well in advance (think of a Boy Scout and "being prepared") market forces won't be disrupted hence no gouging. Usually it's the people who were irresponsible and did not prepare that then turn around and cause the panic and gouging and end pu ask those of us who did for help. Kind of the the story of the Little Red Hen. There are parallels. |

No, it appears you misunderstood my point ... There are parallels.[/QUOTEge Understood completely, just saying how can you hold one individual more responsible than another when they are both hurting the public. Huge difference between prepared and hoarding. So two people in a household need 80 rolls of TP, 50 lbs of meat, 9 doz eggs, etc... Have two week supply not two months, no store can keep up with supply when 75% of shoppers are hoarding. |

Toilet Paper at Walmart on 466
We went to Walmart around 9 a.m. yesterday. They had lots of paper towels and toilet paper - the small 4 packs. They are limiting it to one package per order. The paper goods were not on the racks but in the aisles between the groceries and the clothing. Be good and only take one package.

It sounds like you didn't prepare, rushed out to buy but didn't' find what you needed. Maybe I'm misinterpreting what you're saying? |

We have 4 Walmarts within 9 miles of our house in Tamarind Grove, you need to include which location. We went to Leesburg Walmart yesterday and he said they sold out by 7:30 even though their website said it was in stock.

And the hoarding continues. Went to Publix, Lake Deaton Plaza at 8:30. No chicken, no pork, no eggs, very little butter, about 1/4-1/3 of shelves empty.

Wrong again! Did not panick, do not hoard, just bought our normal bi-weekly groceries. Did not go near a grocery for the first 2 weeks of March. My question is what crisis! If people had not panicked and hoarded from the beginning/gradually hoarded from the onset there would be no issues. If you bought double what you normally do you are panicking. Has there been a shut down of any grocery supplier in this country. Has any essential item manufacturer been shutdown? Nope. Instead of seeing how much can be stock piled why not help others with their supply. That is what we are doing. |
