If the set is more than 3 years old and the issue is not a minor one, you might want to think about buying a new set, particularly if it is a smaller set, say 32".

I agree with the above. I had TV repair out for my 65 inch LG, $80 for initial check, determined bad part, part ordered ($300) with credit for the initial visit. Part came in, and after being installed, no change...Old part re-installed, and an voltage adjustment made. TV is acceptable for now, but is on it last legs, only 3 to 3.5 years OLD!! The plasma screen is apparently failing. Looking for a new LED TV to replace.

I have been told that Bob's TV on 441/27 a little ways north of CR 42 is good for repairs. They have a shop so if you can, you can take it up there....depending on size of course. I think his shop is actually in Summerfield.

The local Sony dealer is Cason & Gaskins in Wildwood. They have a fully equipped repair shop in the back of the Radio Shack store.

Cason & Gaskins, at the Radio Shack, very reasonable and good. Fixed my flat screen a few years ago, still works fine.
