Good story Tommy Hannon.
Glad that you got something posted about this story. I was a bit worried about it being something else given how much suspense it generated. :clap2:
|
Tom - you da man!!!!!
|
I'm so happy for you Tom that lynda was able to record and to post it on you tube for everyone to see. You had me on the edge of my seat waiting for this news story to break and when I saw it this morning no wonder you were so excited about it.

What a wonderful story, Tom! I love these kind of "good news" stories!!
|
Great story; loved watching the video! Tom, you must have been so happy to get together with your friends after so many years.
|
Great story, 3 guys in the same room with a LI accent!
|
Great story Tom...worth the wait!
|
Years ago three guys began their long journey through life. Along the road we came across many obstacles and roadblocks- but with each watching the others back we managed to overcome those detours and continue on our journey. As we reached the mid twenties, life got in the way and we choose different paths. The miracle of this is , "Although we went in different directions, we ended up at the same place."

The strange thing is how many people who I have never met, from all sections of the world speak about "My Accent" New Yorkers don't have accents. It is the rest of the world that has them. |
|
Tommy. Wonderful heartwarming and amazing story.
Now that you are famous are you still my friend? More importantly, will you sign my golf visor? Congratulations and very best wishes to a very sweet person. |

Great story too. |
Finally! And as promised, the front page. LOL
A few inaccuracies but nothing serious. When you get three guys rambling at the same time it can be easy for a reporter to get confused. The paper makes it sound like we lost touch with each other shortly after high school. It wasn't until nearly ten years after graduation when we took different paths. Also the picture on two of us taken in 1961 on the inside pages is of Franzese not Manfredi. Otherwise a nice story. |

Great video. Nice story. What are the odds that three people from childhood wind up meeting in TV. WOW
Nice going Tommy. |
Now that I read the story I am so glad that you shared that experience. Not sure I would want to meet up with the boys I hung around with while growing up a preteen and a teen in Reno, Nevada. None of them show up on Facebook nor anywhere else that I have found. Not exactly people I want to look up either.
Glad you found some friends like that. |
Well well. I sure enjoyed that story. In fact, I read it twice. I grew up in Detroit and remember going into the White Castle on a cold and snowy day and smelling the onions and beef burgers frying on the grill. Looking out at the passers-by, bundled up in coats, mittens, boots and earmuffs and feeling all warm and cozy inside the restaurant.
My question is- Did the 8 of you trouble-makers go in and order the 100 burgers OR was it you 3 guys??? Either way- that's a lot of BULL!! LOL. Hahaha. Joke, just a joke. Anyway, I loved the article!! :mmmm: |
It was no bull. I think it was just a bunch of crazy teenagers trying to do something outrageous. We did buy the 100 burgers as Manfredi said and went home to Mr. Distlers home and knock them off sharing them between the faithful 8 and Mr. and Mrs. D. Did we actually finish eating all the burgers? Don't remember ...but I'm sure we came close. Look at the picture again...Manfredi was an eating machine.
Glad you liked the article |
Oh no!
I can't find the danged paper. How did I miss it? I have been through slimey lettuce leaves and other unspeakable stuff going through the trash trying to find it.
I read the Sun every day...How did this slip by??? How will Tommy ever forgive me??? Oh please, somebody save theirs for me. |
It was front page news, Gracie. Next to the story of the Holocaust survivors.
|
Hey, Tom! Haven't been watching TOTV for some time and now you are so famous here and probably in The Villages. What a great story! Too bad this incident didn't happen before your Big Birthday this year so they could have been invited to the Secret Big Bash. But better late than ever. Don't forget new friends also now you have real old friends. Perhaps should have gone to the fish place together. See you when we return. Will you still have us now that you are a celebrity? :BigApplause:

Tom, what a wonderful story! Gracie, I rescued our paper from recycling for you. No lettuce leaves or coffee grounds on it. :p
