Last weekend for our anniversary we bought 3 more expensive wines to try. First one wife liked I didnt. Will try another next.

I kind of like being a wine drinker of stuff we like. Our favorite wine is Sara Bee Moscate that is all of 7 bucks that is only sold at TJ. Still have a few bottles left and when gone will go there and buy them out of it.

Our everyday day wine is Sterling Cab Napa. For regular occasions Cakebread, Nickle Nickle.
For anniversary we just go down to the cellar and pick what will go best with dinner.
Our cellar is what we miss the most when we are in TV.

Do we need to get ARC approval to dig a hole in our garage to store wine?

No need for a hole, Just convert office into a cellar, our area will hold our collection well, but no room for a table, ARC approval. Second option is a commercial wine storage In same area, no ARC approval.
Third option move to different house, no ARC approval :a040:

Thanks, but I may need to go more expensive. My $4.50 Woodbridge Sauvignon Blanc is rated 85. I occasionally buy a bottle of Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc for $10-12 to impress people. It is rated at 91, but honestly, I cannot tell the difference.

I was there and they have bottles of wine for as little as $3.00. I don't drink much wine so I don't know if they are good but there was a lot of them. And every thing else you could possibly think of.

Don't be a "wine snob", impress your guests, serve your three-buck-chuck from a lovely wine carafe.

Would you settle for a TJ?

I went to Total Wine yesterday. It's very nice indeed. A huge selection of wine. Something funny happened though. Before I knew it there was close to $100 worth of Vino in my shopping cart. Don't know how it got there but it was time to cash out. :icon_wink:

We are kind of wine peasants. Enjoying a moscato at Aldi for less than 3 bucks and it even has a cork.

Will try some new ones at Total Wine in next few days.

Stu, drink what you like but don't be afraid to venture out a little. There is a HUGE difference in taste between $3 wine and $10 wine. Be adventurous!

I like Kim Crawford SB. In most stores $16 to $17. TW just under $13

I bought 2 bottles of it yesterday. It is better than the Woodbridge. So, I may be on my way to becoming a non-cheap wine drinker. Still not ready to upgrade to multi-ply toilet paper.

Currently up in MI at our summer home and discovered a bottle of Nickle Cab buried behind some more recent purchases from 2000. Cork broke trying to pull it but some cheese cloth and my decanter worked perfectly. OMG, nectar!

I don't think I can downgrade to $3 wine. I'm now a $13 per bottle Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc drinker.

Another good SB at TW is Governor's Bay.
