Seriously .... this tempest in a tea pot now has over 1500 views and 40 reply's.

Such is the very nature of interweb msg brds .... where the inconsequential get disproportionate attention and the important dissolve into childish bickering.

Craigs list having a specific site for the villages... i agree with the above post.. no way. They have entire sections that are illegal.

Landlocked.....You NEED to get to the shore. You are getting all negative.

No one that has ever lived at The Beach south of the Maison Dixon Line has ever called it .... the shore :)

Attachment 24104It's a very good thing to have "for sale" & "wanted to buy" on TOTV!
I have gotten some great things and have had a chance to advertise in the "wanted to buy" with success!
The free items are usually good quality things.... so ... this is a great venue to have here for those of us that don't have time to go to thrift stores!

I did not think they had a shore in Ohio. There is no ocean near them.

:agree: Don't like seeing it you don't have to open it. there are much more important things to worry about or be concerned about these days!

Perhaps you've never seen the vast and beautiful Great Lakes. Sand more glorious than anything you'll find in FL. (Let the fight begin...)

Yes, I also skip over posts that I'm not interested in. It's as easy as a swipe of the finger.:)
But I do appreciate the for sale items as well. I just bought a dog crate from a lovely couple in Pinellas. Just think of all the nice people you meet though the foe sale section!

cquick 10-27-2013 07:55 AM

I read TOTV by category. I usually only read the "General Villages Discussion" section unless I am actually looking for something to buy.

I don't know how to read "new posts" only.

btw...I got "took" when I bought a recliner on the items for sale....my own fault, of course.

Some people always see the glass as half empty. :sigh: I certainly wasn't complaining as the OP. I was merely asking a question for discussion purposes.

CQuick, if you want to see all the new posts, scroll down to the bottom of the home page when you log on. The most recent ones are listed there. I like to read all the new ones that interest me in any category.

totally agree. I do believe that i even recommended (complained?) to the moderator a few months ago that a rule be instituted that items must be over $100 in order to be posted on totv. Most of these other items can be sold in a yard sale when they are under that amount.

I agree with posters wanting more information and/or gossip. Lol.

No no no!
This rug was originally 300.00!
I bought it from a Villager moving to another state for 50.00!

I love the items for sale! Small ticket items OK. Waiting for a garage sale is not too easy, posting on here is. My items always sold quickly. Keep it please.

Lovey2 10-27-2013 02:53 PM

SMH...It's a good tool for those of us selling AND buying, and somewhat comforting that it's Villagers only. Just skip it if you're not interested.

There is a bar at the top. Home, Usercp, Calendar, etc. New posts is in the center. Just hit that.

PammyJ 10-27-2013 07:19 PM

We just bought an item yesterday, love that we can buy and sell. Got my edger, now I'm waiting for one of the Shark Steamers either mop or handheld to come up for sale!

PammyJ...use the search and put "Shark" in. There is one for sale. Originally posted yesterday with no replies so it's probably still available.
