Has anyone tried food from a electric barbecue?

Depending on the grill, you can get gas much hotter and that is best for grilling. Electric grills tend not to get to that high temp need to sear in flavor and juices in your meat.

I have an electric George Foreman, tastes good to me. I like it because the cooking surface is like a griddle and I can wash it in the sink.

We have a Food TV electric grille and it works well with many food items. I prefer food on my gas grille but have a family member that favors the flavor of an electric grille

you can always put a smoker packet in the grill or put food on a plank

I also have the George Foreman electric indoor/outdoor grill. Love it! Mine gets hot. Because of the domed lid, it gets very hot and cooks quickly. I even get the char lines on meat. The best part, for me, is you can grill shrimp, cut veggies, even fish right on the grill surface since there are no open spaces for them to fall through.
I really wish GF would make the same grill in a smaller version. It can be used indoors, but it's just too big, at least for my kitchen. A 12" one would be perfect! Then you could even put the griddle in the dishwasher.... ![]() Oh....having to wash the grill surface is the only negative. With a gas grill you can just let the flame do the work. We have had the George Foreman outdoor electric grill for well over a year and love it as a quick alternative to our Weber Charcoal grill which is the best for great BBQ. The Foreman is outstanding as the meat or whatever you have gets the grill marks and comes out so tender and juicy! Love t for those quick meals! Clean up is a breeze also!

An infrared gille like this popular one is what I was hoping to see comments on. Ace Hardware sells it and a couple of customers said they really like it....

we have an electric grill and have had no negative issues. i don't want gas (who wants to fill up a propane tank). i have always had the old fashioned charcoal grill, weber grills in particular (which are the best!) and i have always loved the taste of everything cookes on the grill (including the thanksgiving turkey!). but i got a bit lazier when we moved here. electric is just fine, and my wife does the grilling now.

I had a Weber gas grill for over 20 yrs - it was wonderful. When I moved to a condo I needed to switch to an Electric (for condo rules)
I purchased a Char Broil and have found the meats, chicken and fish come out much juicer than I ever had with the Char Broil infra-red. I purchased a second Char Broil for my home in The Villages from Lowes $179. Works great - never going back to Gas!!! |
