Was a little too shy to come to the TOTV meeting yesterday, but may make the February 15, 2008 one. Great picture. :#1:

I have never seen 150 people at Crispers. That could be a new goal for TOTV members to fill up Crispers at one of the monthly meetings. Of course, I never go to Crispers for lunch, just pick up the evening take-out dinner occasionally.

Wow! Very nice gathering. Couldn't make the meeting because of work <sigh>. Maybe next time. The pic would be a nice addition to the TOTV home page

Just looking ahead at the callendar. The third Friday of March (3/21) is Good Friday this year. Easter Sunday is 3/23. It's generally never a good idea to schedule a meeting or trip on a religious holy day. If you're taking votes, I'd go for 3/28. George

I normally don't respond to a knee-jerk reaction, but I'll make an exception today. Who appointed you the spokesperson for TOTV? George

The difference Barb, is how you say things. I simply made an observation. You summarily dismissed it. What! none of the others can offer an opinion? TV is a very traditional community which appreciates and recognizes both patriotism and traditional religious observances. Your attitude shows complete indifference and disregard to one of the holiest days in the Christian tradition. Of course people are free to come out or stay at home that day. All I'm saying is a "reasonable" planner would avoid scheduling any kind of event on one the major Holy Days of any major religion. It's fundamental! It's been said elsewhere on this forum, common sense is not all that common!

If my memory serves me correctly, JohnZ and Pat suggested the first gathering of TOTV last Spring long before anyone heard from you. So don't be too quick take credit for a TOTV meeting. I've been an active member of TOTV since March 2007 and have rarely missed a day that I don't visit this web site.

In Barb's defense I do not think she was suggesting we meet on Good Friday. What I think she was saying is that we have established the 3rd Friday as the date to meet. There have been some suggestions to change dates and venue. I believe Barb was suggesting that for now we do not change either in hopes of getting a routine established.
When we meet in February I am sure that many of us will not want to meet on Good Friday and will make the change for the March meeting then.
As to who originated the process I think that is irrelevant. We are getting the group together, the numbers seem to be growing, we had a really nice time last Friday and that is what counts.

Beady

Let's try to keep our focus on the fact that we're getting the group together, the numbers and interest are increasing, and we had a really great time at the first TOTV luncheon.

Beady and BF, you're both right. It's all about getting together and I'm sure the subject will come up for discussion in February--as it should. We expect to be down in March and we are looking forward to meeting everyone. Barb's position about the date being carved in stone just seemed singularly highhanded. Good night and keep us all talking together--that's why we come back here day after day, right! George
