I have posted on a couple other forums and never knew who the particular moderators were at any given time, but did know who some of them were generally. The original political forum was moderated, but it became such a time consuming headache for the mods that it was finally shut down. Came back mostly unmoderated and became a free for all, in part because of being loosely moderated and in part because of anonymity IMO.
