Towels
Silly question but it's been bugging me - I can't figure out where to hang our bath towels out to dry in our Gardenia - there's no space in the bathroom.
So how has everyone else solved this dilemma?

Artfully drape them over your chairs. Another, probably better alternative is to get a foldable drying rack. While you're not supposed to have them outside, I know of more than one person who has left on the outside rather than in the garage, laundry room or lanai so that the clothes gets direct sun and the fresh air smell. So far as I know, they've never had a problem doing this (other than the wind blowing my friend's undies into the neighbor's yard).

or on the nearest green.
In Norcal I usually hang dry the laundry - but so do the neighbors, so it isn't an issue. .

Just toss them in your dryer for a few minutes.

We have the same master bath and had Jeff the closet guy install 2 more towel bars.

We put up hooks on the back of the bedroom door where we hang wet towels. We also have hooks up in the garage, where we hang towels from the swimming pool, hot tub, etc. , and also our jackets during bad weather. Our gardenia has 3 towel racks in the master bath, and there are only 2 of us, so with one towel per rack, they dry out pretty quickly anyways.

How about one of those devices that you hang over a door with towel bars on one side? This would work if the door into the bathroom was NOT a pocket door but a standard door. Just a thought. Good luck.

Freestanding rack
I bought a freestanding towel rack from Bed Bath and Beyond and it stands in the Bathroom.

Since we are building a Gardina this little hint helped me. Our for sale sign is going up this week. Would love to hear about anyones upgrades . I have read several posts that people are not very happy with the appliances. Can't wait to move to Buttonwood.

Added loops to towels
I am not in the villages yet but have always had the problem with my husbands bath sheet (huge like a big beach towel) drying and throwing it in the dryer twice a day is a pain. It never fully dryed when draped over a towel bar. I sewed fabric loops on two of the corners and we put up robe hooks high on the wall so it would hang straight. Now it drys really fast and hangs close to the wall.
(you could use those 3M command temp hooks if you wanted they are easy to install and pull off if you need to move them) Just a thought. |
