I like Lake Sumter---it's a big body of water for around here. I like the bridge that brings you into town and seeing all those fancy homes to the right. It reminds me of the shore.

tomwed, What shore does it remind you of? Malibu, Miami, Daytona, Honolulu? I also like the view but can't see an ocean shore, more to me like a fishing village in New Engand. Very well done.

Cape May, NJ link to photos
[I might be getting a little homesick too. We used to own a condo in Cape May.]

The one you are closest to is most likely the best. SS area has a lot of shopping and soon hopefully Katie Belles returns, a club unique to SS where Rocky and the Rollers hopefully will be regulars again.

Brownwood........

Many thanks for taking the time to respond. You all have been very helpful! I'm really glad to read that you enjoy the music performers and enjoy what the town centers offer. We'll be making a trip in Oct. or Nov. and plan to enjoy some of things The Villages offer. We'll most likely get lost, but I have a feeling we'll find a friendly face to point us in the right direction. Thanks again!

Just hold your map out and someone will get you to where you want to go. Take your time there is lots to see and there will be a house out there for you, if you choose

One last difference that has been overlooked because Katie Belle's is closed for remodeling. At Spanish Springs if you don't care for the band, you have the option of going into KB's and experiencing a whole different music type. Here's a photo of my favorite band Uncle Bob's Rock Shop inside Katie Belle's.

Another small factor but it's nice to know. At SS the happy hour is 2 hours long, from 5 - 7, at LSL and BW the happy hour is only 1 hour from 5 - 6.

If you are thinking about living near a town square, you will find you don't spend as much time at the square as in the beginning. We are at the rec centers more than the squares

We live behind Savannah Center, and it's an easy bike ride to Spanish Springs. We love biking there on a summer morning and drinking an iced coffee at Dunkin Donuts while sitting outside and looking out on the Square. My favorite day is Thursday when the farmer's market is there. We take the golf cart to Lake Sumter Landing for lunch or dinner. The lake has cool breezes that are very nice in the heat of a summer day.

I will help you out Shimpy, it's about the size of a pond, at least based on where I come from.

One reason why I bought where I did is because my home is close to SS and just a few minutes from SL. I like being able to get to either quickly. Been to Brownwood several times but until that area grows and more businesses come to the area I'm quite content to spend more of my time in the other 2 town centers.

Thanks again for the additional replies. All of you have been very helpful!

JohnW, We checked out Uncle Bob's Rock Shop band on YouTube and can see why it draws a crowd.
