You will feel one every couple months. They have done no damage to homes down here but they do clean the dust off your ceiling fans for you.

How can you be sure the blasting is not causing any hidden damage? Sorry, but I'm glad we aren't close enough for our home to shake.

It was the inmates at Coleman, pounding their forks in unison...because dinner was late.

Question

Did the broker disclose this to you before you made the purchase?

Are they supposed to inform us or are we supposed to research the place we're considering moving to?

The day we looked at the home we're now living in, there were the distinct sounds of gun fire which reminded me of the rod and gun club near my previous home. I asked the sales robot what that might be, his response was "well, we are in central Florida" We had no idea there were people having target practice on their own private property and have every right to do so. We could have selected another house to buy in a more established residential area.

We were however very shocked to feel the very first blast from the quarry. We had no idea that is was there and that they performed semi-frequent blasting, but we didn't do any research into such things. So, buyer beware. We've felt it 5 or 6 times in our first year down south. Time will tell about possible damage to the homes down here.

Serial blasting would seem to rattle the limestone substrata beneath the houses. Make sure you have sinkhole coverage and maybe go sleep wearing a scuba outfit just in case
