Ideally no "noise" should come from one persons home to another but unfortunately the home's are so tightly packed together it can't be helped at time's. Just have to hope you get lucky.....

True story, our neighbor lady had wind chimes and they drove me nuts! One day when I knew she was gone I cut them down and tossed them in her trash can. Yes I know I should have talked to her, but in my entire life I have never done anything like this, but dang those chimes got the best of me and the lady never replaced them!

The flapping of the Flag stands to remind us of our freedom to fly it.

No one said it was an American flag. What if it's some Florida Gator flag or worse, say... Ohio State flag?

If this happened in The Villages, now your neighbor will finally know who cut down her chimes.

When I was at school it was honor duty to take the flag in every night at dusk. I didn't get to do it often as I talk too much in class and always had demerits. I was surprised to see the American flag flying all the time even at night. We also use to wrap the cord around the pole before securing so it wouldn't clang.

I was actually wondering if anyone ever put up a water wall to help block the noise from the neighbors lanais didn't even think that the noise of the water might bother someone. A neighbor at home has a 6 foot high glass and stone wall that has water running down it to block the sound of passing cars. It is so beautiful with brass fish on the front that the water runs past. I wanted one until I found out it cost $6000.

I see Barefoot I am not the only one up at 2 am.

I actually had a neighbor complain that my palm tree was noisy when the wind blew through it.

So glad my neighbors enjoy my bamboo windchimes!

Well she died about a year ago but, if she's up in heaven, reading TOTV I would just like to say "sorry Dorthy my wife made me do it".

Bogie Shooter 02-17-2014 08:52 AM

And you wonder why some folks complain about their neighbors.

anarick 02-17-2014 09:52 AM

When I hear something I don't like I lower the volume on my hearing aid.

Wind chimes are not in my deed restrictions. Also, bird baths and fountains are allowed as long as the water is kept moving.

That being said, deed restrictions are not consistent throughout The Villages. Unlike homeowners associations and condo associations, the only "rules and regulations" that pertain to your home are those that are specifically noted in your deed.
