I find this amusing. After years of posts from people pleading for a Costco, we get a Costco & now there are a plethora of posts complaining about: the location, the traffic, the intrusions, the cost of membership, & one from left field about tires near groceries. :1rotfl:

I think, Rusty, The Villages residents in their golf carts are far different from the massive automotive influx from outside the perimeter. As I said time will tell and we'll hope for the best.

I arrived in 2005 - 42000 residents. Today TV is 160000 residents. They all (99.9%) own automobiles. In my neck of the woods that qualifies as a massive influx.

You obviously missed the ‘sarcasm’ reference on mine. You apparently missed another post where someone sees a correlation between Costco memberships and the church. I do like the cult references tho!

I really thought that Costco would maybe build down there. But, now this location is closer to Ocala and also Gainsville. Where many young families are living.

There is a lot of retail and restaurants on 466 but, IMHO, 441 has 466 beat.

The construction is finally completed on 441 in our stomping ground. Further south, is not done yet. Traffic certainly moves along so much better now in our completed section.
Hooray!!!!

It was really a cool place then but I think for the good of The Villages, it would have been better for the new Costco to be on the south end of Ocala.

The traffic and influx of surrounding neighbors to shop Costco will be extremely undesirable for The Villages. We would always prefer to drive 20-30 minutes rather than have that constant congestion. Now Ocala residents will be in the crowd filling the streets here.

The influx of people from neighboring towns will be welcomed by restaurants in The Villages.

You will never hear me utter one complaint about Costco. In fact, just heading home now from Winter Park Costco. Costco no longer offers Churros at the snack bar. What has replaced the Churro is the most delicious HUGE Double Chocolate Chunk cookie and it is ALWAYS SERVED WARM! Hubby and I shared the cookie. It is the best ever!!

Will there be any retraction of comments made by many on TOTV that swore Costco was never gonna come to TV?

The area at Hobby Lobby is not on The Villages property! That property is owned by a Family in Oxford. Check it out!

Stay tuned, lol, it's all yours to enjoy. Costco doesn't do anything special for me so there's never been a complaint. If you want to live in a large, congested city in your elderly years, your wish is being granted. Go for it!chilout

So does that mean you own a restaurant? If not, be ready to slide back further in the wait times to be served.:1rotfl:

Rightttt, and all of that on a few square miles of highway where all lot of people in vehicles want to be at once. No correlation there.

It is strange how so many people want the costco to be anywhere other than here.

Some people cant wait to complain about anything.

Not only that, then there are those who are accused of complaining immediately if their opinion isn't in lockstep with the poster at the time. Sigh....

Costco will do what they want, just be prepared. I mean think of all the people who can dine on the samples at Costco and not have to make lunch at home anymore.:pepper2:

We don't ever go out to eat in any restaurant at busy times. We never have to wait when we go to lunch/dinner around 3:00 in the afternoon. We've been doing this for many years including when we lived in NJ and South Florida.

That may help some but I'm sure you realize that Costco is busy at all hours and the businesses around them are impacted with additional usage.

We eat on the same schedule you do and that has helped somewhat.

Belong to Sams and BJ's and do enjoy their samples and often will buy what they sample. Prefer not to buy a large package without having some idea of whether we will enjoy it.

However do not see how you can get lunch out of the small size of their samples. Been to a few costco as our kids both belong and not that many samples available there either
