When we moved to Miami in 1990, I realized that the use of turn signals was optional in Florida!!

That would require them to acknowledge that there is anyone else on the road.

I thought they were optional in the villages.

When someone is telling me they are making a turn via their turn signal, I wait to see if their wheels are turning in the same direction, as their signal.

This was mentioned to me by a race car driver and has helped me several times, especially on freeways, parkways or the interstate. Never mind what the signal is telling you, if the wheels are turning into you, you need to avoid that situation.

Don't want to wear em out...you need to save those blinkers for shopping, to identify YOUR parking spot when shopping.

When hitting on us native or longtime Floridians you got to remember that the large majority of our residents in TV according to the Daily Sun are from NY, Penn. Ind. Ohio, Ill., and N.J. I can't believe they quit using turn signals after moving here so that's the way they always drove back home.
One of these days I'm going to go up north, drive slow in the passing lane and tell everybody how much better everything is back home.

Older folk are forgetful, and sometimes they just forget to check fluids.
