Dryer vents, air vents, solar tube bubbles….. I don’t think an antenna is going to make much difference. We have one and it is barely noticeable.

Our antenna is on the roof. Rarely the signal from Orlando is shaky for one of the local channels but otherwise it works great.

Tried the attic antenna but there is too much interference. Apparently it’s due to the metal used in construction of the roof. At least that’s what I’m told.

Don’t know if you’re allowed a antenna on the outside of house now but 5 yrs. ago you weren’t supposed to be allowed to have any kind of antenna on the outside. I think you were only allowed to have some kind of cable TV. You know you can put an antenna in your attic & get 50 channels. I would call TV head office & ask them. But if you drive around you’ll see a lot of antennas on houses. I agree cable TV cost a lot by the time you live in TV in 5 to 8 yrs.!

Yes.

Buy a 100 mile range antenna and put it in your attic at the highest point. I get 70 plus channels.

Do you know if a company that installs the roof antennas? If so, can I get their info?

Is this off the third hole of LowLands? Everytime I play that it looks worse.

I live in Fenny, and have a large Yagi antenna in my garage attic. I'm blessed with a good home orientation that is an easy point to Orlando. I connected a Winegard pre amp, and ran it through the existing cable network in my house to feed two TVs.

I get 50+ channels, all of the networks and then some. I use services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and ESPN+ for everything else. More TV than I can watch in a lifetime.

And as I didn't come to the Villages to watch TV, it suits me fine.

You Tube also has local channel issues and drops channels as broadcasters raise the price . This is the new word of tv and there is no guarantee that any cable or streaming service will not have interruptions of channels as they fight with the programmers. I have researched all the services and although they are not perfect Dish Network has the least amount of channel interruptions and they have the lowest prices and the best DVR they are tough to beat and they are the only cable company that will let you deduct 12.00 dollars from you bill if you do not need the local channels. With the current writers strike it may be a year before new content makes it to ABC,NBC,CBS and Fox so who cares about garbage locals .

Always ask ARC, they are very friendly and helpful. They will often be able to offer helpful advice. In this case it isn’t critical but the next issue may not be as simple. Why rely on people who may have good intentions but not always the facts.

The full text of the law says having to apply to some organization for clearance to install an antenna is classified as an "unreasonable delay". That delay specifically called out as not legal. Therefore ARC has no authority.

That is the purpose of the law. Allows people to put antennas on their property. Not restricted to attic, back yards, or anywhere else.

Channel 2, WESH, the NBC affiliate. changed their signal a few years ago. It's the strongest now.

regulations posted? Antenna’s are allowed in attic outside on pole, on top of house. Every village has outdoor antenna’s all have to do look up. Who looks up at roof or anything else. Too busy critiquing front yards.

Do what I did, DUMP Dish, why put up an antenna and still pay DISH. ABC has been gone for a year!
