Isn't Florida already the butt of jokes? The entire South, really. Throw in California, New York city, Detroit, Texas, Portland, North Dakota, and the Midwest while you're at it.

For myself, I could not care less what strangers are saying or thinking about where I live.

With regard to the two participants, I don't know their lives but feel sympathy for anyone who ends up with a public mug shot because of something so stupid (on their parts) and trivial. It should have been handled much more kindly on the part of the police.

I would not say that. She could alter her name a bit. I did this for various prisoners at MCF-Stillwater when I was a Student Attorney at Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners. I also do not think many people who use the net have very long memories. It is a shame that just for being passionate with someone in the wrong place at the wrong time would have such a consequence. There are much worse things for which people go completely unpunished. And, unlike the prisoners at MCF-Stillwater, the FL Department of Probation or whatever agency is not obligated to notify the victims of any name change as the only real victims in this whole charade are the two people who tried to make love (or whatever it actually was) on stage at Lake Sumter Square.

I am very surprised about how many media outlets covered this "story" about Lake Sumter Landing's Square and its romantic duo. Too bad stories like Trenton Duckett's abduction or whatever actually happened to him did not get this wide a distribution as quickly as this one has. http://www.wftv.com/news/news/local/...ho-disa/nZdqR/
