Correct. While Harold is credited as the founder, it was Gary who had the vision and made The Villages what it is today. And to those that believe that Harold is spinning in his grave at what the community has become, keep in mind that he was there when the big expansion south began. Spinning? Maybe. I think it is from total pride in his family.

On our first visit to TV, we had the pleasure of meeting Harold Schwartz. It was in the mid 90’s prior to our retirement. It was also prior to the building of the hospital. New houses were all “stick/block” built then. Mr. Schwartz was very personable as he greeted us in the sales office @ Spanish Springs. It was our pleasure to shake his hand and briefly speak to him.

We are sorry we never met Gary Morse. I’ve no idea how much future planning they might have done together, but the two seem to compliment one another. I would say both of them would be very proud of what is taking place these days in The Villages.

One could extrapolate this to be another 50,000 homes south of CR470, or tripling the current size of TV in the next 30+ years. Pretty amazing plans, it will be interesting to watch it happen.

Nice find Champion6!

Goldwingnut, keep your drone in good shape. I think you will be able to use it to fly over the expansion of The Villages for quite some time.

What a stupid idea. It will never fly.

Plus 1.

Like the man once said, "build out is a myth".

Harold Schwartz and Al Tarrson started TV and Harold bought out Al and subsequently brought he son, Harold "Gary Morse", to help in the building of TV.

Gary was the visionary and his family is continuing his legacy. I never thought TV would grow to be this big but what the heck do I know.

As the population ages and more and more people are ready to retire, the Morse family is filling a great need. IMHO

In 30 years what part of the villages be considered the historical part of town? Anywhere above Brownwood?

I'll be quite happy just watching the V-Mail videos that cover the construction!

(Confession: I still haven't even been to Brownwood.)

In 30 years they will be tearing your house down and instituting the revitalization program in your neighborhood.

I heard from a very reliable source, that 'build-out' is definitely going to be August 14.......

.........2059

Can't wait. :D
