Baby Boomers. 1946 - 1964

Generation X. 1965 - 1981

Millennials. 1982 - 2000

Looks like Gen X is next up for The Villages (after The Baby Boomer run).

I wish that somewhere along the way they would find a place for deeded luxury RV lots.

While I'm personally not too keen on a 'deeded' park, I've wondered many times...why they haven't built a high-end/luxury RV park nearby.

Keep it at around 100 luxurious spots, make it golf cart accessible, require a minimum motor-home/5th wheel size and age...then limit the stay to a couple of weeks or less.

I would think that with those requirements (maybe even a few more?), it would attract exactly the kind of demographic...to which TV likes to market.

It would make it easy for those RV'ers traveling around and who could afford to purchase here, to stop for a bit...and get an idea of what TV is all about.

I don't know what the current cost of a 'Lifestyle Visit' is (to the visitor and/or TV), but I'm guessing that an RV park as described...would at least pay for itself.

And of course, all rents would be refunded...with a purchase.

I have never agreed with that split, I was born in 1963, and I have nothing in common with the majority of boomers whose teen years were - MLK, Kennedy assasination, Viet Nam, Hippies, and the Beatles. Mine was more like - Moon Landing, watergate, bicentennial, Disco, Star Wars, REO Speedwagon, Inflation, and Ronald Reagan's election. Totally different. I definitely identify way more with Gen X than Baby Boom.
I guess the main issue is that the generations are too long... I doubt someone born in 1982 vs 2000 is way different too...

Hey, quit appropriating my generational events. You were only six for the moon landing. Only the first one counts. I watched it on black and white TV while in a 24 hour long acey deucy game in the basement of an MP station in Berlin. I still have the IOUs somewhere just in case I ever run into those welchers again.

In 20-30 years your kids will be looking for a place to retire. It's possible that in 20-30 years, your kids will already have done so, and will be living in The Villages.

What legacy do you wish to leave your children?

If there was the room...not a problem.

I would much prefer to have diesel pushers that cost more than 75% of the homes in TV being near me...than another convenience store/gas station.

Am I to presume then, that you're also against the current (or future) storage areas...that The Developer has built (or will build)?

And if you're OK with them...then what's the diff?

Here, let me show you the difference.

The Villages Florida

So please explain, why you are so against...something like this?

Not in my back yard. Thanks anyways. I took the time to look at over 70 homes before deciding on one I felt was perfect for my budget, so I didn't have to worry about what might appear on undeveloped land I had a view of.
