Default Type of gas in the Villages?

Just curious as to which type of gas is available in the Villages that have it. Is it natural gas or propane? I know many of the newer villages are all electric and that's a shame. In my area of the country only propane is available, that's what I have but it is getting very expensive as it is a petroleum product. Thanks!

We have natural gas in Caroline. And I'm not talking about after dinner emissions!

Some villages don't have gas available. Not sure why! I do know that some offer either hookup though.

Yes all electric for me as well.

I think there was a split between Morse and the gas company.

I think all new areas are to be electric only.

I was told by a salesperson the gas company couldn't keep up the pace of development. After a few visits, I believe it.

In Duval if your north of Odell circle it's gas, but below Odell it's all electric. I think everything between Canal and Morse between Bonita and Odell is also all electric but I could be wrong on that.

Thanks for all the responses. As for the quote above, having spent my career in utility construction and engineering I can tell you without a doubt this is not true. Developers pay nothing for utility construction EXCEPT when they make changes after the fact like rearranging neighborhoods or lot sizes etc then the utilities want compensation for the rearrangements. Some want more than others in what they want to be reimbersed for, this is where fall outs with the developers are most likely to happen. If a utility company starts to fall behind in construction schedules they just hire more contractors from other areas and especially these days everyone is looking for work.

Propane is available in the newer villages. It has to be in a buried tank and it must be installed after the closing. During the construction the piping can be installed by the propane installer but the closing must take place with the existing electric appliances, then they can be exchanged for gas.
Many people have propane for pool heaters and summer kitchens, others for stove and heat. They can also provide propane for a gas fireplace.
