If you're going to paint vinyl siding, you typically want to go with a lighter color ... if it's white, it doesn't matter.

Spray, rather than Brush/Roll.

Sherwin-Williams is fine, but I would definitely check with Florida Paints. I believe most of the paint in TV came from there. It's a family owned, Florida based business.

Make sure that the paint is designed to be used on vinyl siding.

Vinyl siding was not manufactured to be painted. The result is a deterioration of the structure of the vinyl as UV light reacts chemically with the paint.

Most every expert will disagree with you.

you can go to SW but you are wasting your time. is that white not the original color? Vinyl siding oxidizes over time and becomes white. and painting it is a waste of time it was never meant to be painted. Just replaced if it oxidizes too much.

You folks might want to do some research, before posting things that simply aren't true.

From ChatGPT:

Yes, vinyl siding can be painted! In fact, painting vinyl siding is a common way to refresh the look of a home without replacing the siding itself. However, there are a few key things to consider:

"look of a home without replacing the siding itself. However, there are a few key things to consider:

1. Use the Right Paint: Choose a high-quality exterior acrylic paint specifically made for vinyl siding. These paints are designed to expand and contract with vinyl to prevent peeling and cracking.
2. Surface Preparation: Clean the siding thoroughly to remove dirt, mold, or chalky residue. You may need to power wash it or use a scrub brush with soapy water.
3. Color Choice: Avoid choosing colors darker than the original vinyl shade. Dark colors absorb more heat, which can cause the siding to warp. Many paint manufacturers have vinyl-safe color palettes that prevent this issue.
4. Weather Conditions: Paint in mild, dry conditions, ideally between 50–90°F (10–32°C) and out of direct sunlight. Humid or rainy weather can prevent the paint from adhering well.
5. Application: Use a high-quality brush or roller, or a paint sprayer for more even coverage. Generally, two coats provide the best results.

Painting vinyl siding can extend its life, improve its appearance, and save money compared to a full replacement."
