You carry, because you never know when you may need to protect yourself or others. A donut shop, gas station, pizza parlor whats the difference? Nothing but time & circumstance.

In this era in our country I refuse to go naked as prey for some preditor,
be it financial or political.

My personal ethnic is "never again"

Some may ask why you would carry your pistol to the donut store at 6:30 in the morning?

I would just assume it is in the event you find a donut without a hole already in the center.

Several customers and myself walked out--The store has changed ownership & I will avoid it for awhile, I'll give them a chance to get their act together. I carry a weapon & I make it an absolute must to avoid all any conflicts.

I would venture to say one (or maybe all) of them probably drank too much yesterday and stayed out too late last night.

Due to carrying, I also avoid all conflicts like that. I pulled into that convenience store on 466a close to 27/441 the other day to fuel up and there was some woofing going on between Hispanics and blacks; I didn't stick around to see what happened.

Create your own donut holes?

:bigbow: That ONE time you leave it at home will be the time everything goes to hell. Just like the American Express commercial - "Don't leave home without it".

Huh?

He has a right to carry; he has a right to say he carries a gun. However, if someone started shooting, he could have defended himself . It is his right! I don't understand the snide remarks. And with ISIS saying we want to kill you and coming over here and carrying out their threat, why do you question his carrying a gun? ISIS or AlQueda -- They have killed more than 3000 people on 9/11, I don't know how many in Paris, what was it, 14 in CA, and the "office" killing in Ft. Hood where no soldier can carry a gun? How many did he kill? Not counting the journalists etc. Wake up!

He has a right to carry if he has the permit. I not sure about the right to publicize in all circumstances that he carries is true. I am not familiar with Florida law in this area. So I propose an experiment. Go to Paddock Square on a Friday night around 7 pm and stand up and announce you are carrying a gun. Seems to me not much different than telling us that here on this forum. The bad guys also hang out here electronically. They now know you carry and can piece together who you are and then a couple more steps figure out where you live. High percentage of illegal guns carried by bad guys come from burglaries of houses of legal gun carriers that couldn't keep their mouths shut.

I think it's the constant boasting of some posters on certain subjects that leads to snide remarks from others.

Quite a big difference. You act as though one should be ashamed of CCing. And you're giving "bad guys" way too much credit. They are not that smart. In Florida, there are probably more homes with firearms than there are without.

Why do you think it is boasting? If he said he played golf or owned a house in TV, would you think that was boasting? This is Florida. Many, many, many people CC. No big deal.

I respect anyone's right to carry a gun legally. I am not against gun carrying. I simply think a lot more harm than good will come out of publicizing you are carrying. Tell your friends - tell your family. Don't tell the crazies. Do you think they are afraid of you? They got a gun in their pocket. Legal or illegal it still shoots bullets. There must be some laws that don't allow for that. I believe it's illegal to yell "fire" in a theater. I don't count my money at the ATM machine.

As far as I know, there is no law in Florida against saying that you CC. Now, if you go into a bank, and tell the teller that you have a gun and want money, you may be in trouble. But mentioning it on a website is not against the law. And bad guys with guns do not want a gun fight. They are predators that want to prey on the weaker victims.

Why do people who put in burglar alarms put out a lawn sign announcing it? Because the bad guys look for the easy score.

If you are ever faced with a armed bad guy you are go to:
1. Pray for help
2. Pray that help has a gun
