Love our River Rock!!
Big thanks to Uptown girl and others who recommended Matt with Chattahoochee River Rock!
We had our Lanai and front entry done yesterday and it looks and feels fabulous!! He mixed a custom color for us, some grey with some brown and white. It really turned out nice. He is a great guy and knows his stuff. Great price for a great product! I would highly recommend him along with the others! We are so glad we chose this for our Lanai!! |

I would love to see a photo or two; I was considering this for a small lanai.

Do you need to seal it every year?

It gets hazy
Please don't use it on your driveway. We had it for 9 years and because of the sun and rain exposure, it turned hazy, milky looking as the sealer broke down. Yes, we used Matt, it did look beautiful....until 5 months later when it again started to get white. As long as it's under roof, it's good although even the irrigation and rain water would make it white around the edges of the open lanai. It's now been jackhammered off and a different method used.

It should not be used on the driveway. It would be too hard to keep up. I had it on my lanai for 23 years in SWFL, and loved it! I DID pressure wash and recoat every year, because some areas (by the pool and exposed to the daily sun) faded faster than others and I like when it was all shiny . I covered it over when we were selling the house, because the deco-crete was the "modern" thing and they said my river rock aged the home.....fooey!! I loved the look, it felt nice on my tootsies, was pourous, so the water drained and I had to pressure wash at least every year anyway, so a quick few hours to (thinnly) reseal and a day to dry and I was happy!!

The river rock does need to be resealed, I believe every couple of years. Also the milky white appearance, that sometimes shows up, can be brightened by applying a coat of denatured alcohol. Matt will do this for you but we do it ourselves a couple of times a year. Takes about one gallon but we have an over 1,100 sq ft lanai.

I would not put it on a driveway, only because of the slope- one could possibly slip if walking up or down the driveway during a rain.

Denatured alcohol,as mentioned above, in a spray bottle. Spritz a fine mist in areas that may take on a milky appearance due to sun & rain exposure. This really is not a big problem as it is just an occasional occurrence. Love everything about the flooring & ours has been down almost 7 yrs.
