Since I live off St. Charles, a road with golf cart paths on both sides, it makes a lot of sense. I often see cars and carts doing the turn dance at Buttonwood Run and Pennecamp. If you see a line of golf carts and you are going to make a right turn, look for a gap ahead, if necessary speed up or slow down and slide your car slightly to the right and engage your turn signal. The carts behind you now know what you're doing and there won't be this hesitation and cars behind you won't be delayed as much. Don't move completely into the lane, just a couple of feet over the line is enough to telegraph your intentions.

I don't know what's legal,but if I had one hand on the Bible...there are two places I tend to drive in the cart lane. One as soon as you go past the gate entering hillsborough from buena vista. I turn onto cosmos which is a very short distance. Carts come around the corner onto hillsborough without the need to yield because they have their own lane. If no carts are there, I hug middle between the two lanes. The other place is on hillsborough between warlock and the mail boxes. Virtually the same circumstances. I am in both locations frequently in the cart and car so I am cautious.
