OP, you wrote that you pay $45/mo. to Verizon with the senior discount...and I'm guessing that you had that plan previous to the 5G service you switched to

I spoke with Verizon wireless last week to see if they could go lower than the flat rate $68/mo. senior cell plan I have with them. That amount includes taxes, text, data, etc.

They said that I had the lowest deal....what is the senior discount that you're using with Verizon called?

Check out Visible which is owned by Verizon. $25/month inc taxes if you join their "party group" of which there are hundreds and is unlimited everything taxes included. It is "prepaid" which simply means you pay your month upfront. Referral coupons out there for first month for $5. Only problem I had with them were their PING times for dats was 200ms vs most of the other which are under 30ms. If that doesn't matter to you it's a good deal for Verizon service.

Good to know. I had Verizon internet and cable when living in NJ, it was called FIOS for fiber optics, it was awesome. Since moving to TV 4 1/2 years ago I’ve had CenturyLink…hated it and always had to argue about an increase in my bill. I have XFinity now and I’ve been happy with them but once the introductory package was finished I had to reduce the channels I get in order to afford it. Perhaps it’s time to switch to streaming everything and forget about cable altogether. I’ll be contacting Verizon. I appreciate your post.

Does it support the major streaming apps: Hulu-live, Netflix, YouTube-TV, Prime, HBOMax, etc? I have heard of issues with Hulu-live on some providers in the past.

We have Hulu and have had no trouble streaming with Verizon 5G internet.

HiFred, is this Verizon FIOS ?
We have FIOS in NYC & it is great. Our house in The Villages has Xfinity which is NOT great. We are moving to the villages soon & I have been a little concerned about internet service.
Would love to have a seamless internet transition.

LG999 - I don't know if it is the same as FIOS. I live in the Village of Charlotte and I only have Verizon internet and phone service. The internet runs very fast compared to what I have had in the past which was spectrum and Century Link. There is no data limit in my contract and the price I have of $40 per month after $20 a month discount is guaranteed for 2 years.

Is there a place to find out which providers service which areas of TV?

Is fiber being installed in all the new areas?

They run fiber to the post outside the home and coax from there to inside the house.
