I love Village Pet Spa and so do my dogs. Please think about the permanent harm that is done to local businesses by airing complaints on a public forum.

Your baby may have picked them up in the exercise pen area out front - very wooded all around, many overhanging trees and ticks have legs and can crawl.... Just saying.

On the other hand, someone should have had hands on the dog and noticed/remedied the problem. Yes, their management needs to respond to this thread to clarify.

Our dogs Ben and Jerry like it here and their haircuts they get here.
Maybe the OPs dogs came with ticks. Remember Frontline or whatever has to be applied every month. It doesn't kill ticks on contact but before it can harm the pet.

Exactly. They should have noticed the ticks, they are responsible for the safety and well being of these animals and as such should be doing as if they were the owners. I'd be angry if it were my dog.

I don't understand your post, because the OP clearly stated that her dog are always on flea and tick prevention.

I think Redtail is saying that Revolution is a superior product compared to other flea and tick Meds.

Who knows what flea & tick prevention OP's dogs are on? Could be Revolution, but they didn't say. We used some awful, greasy topical flea & tick in Michigan because it was supposedly the best, and we lived in dune grass. I can't remember the name. But it worked.

I would let the owners know about the problem so they can check their facilities and make remedies if needed.

True!

Try giving raw garlic mixed in with the dog food. Ticks hate the garlic! I have a Golden Retriever "0llie" who just loves to roll in leaves and run thru the woods.. Ticks are common in MA. This really does help! Check with your vet for dosage if using the pill form of garlic.

I visited the Village Pet Spa yesterday to pick up a friend's two dogs. They were boarded at the Spa for a week.
No fleas, no ticks, no problems.
My friend always leaves her dogs at the Spa, she loves the place and her dogs love it also.
She has moved to Fort Pierce but still brings her dogs to The Village Pet Spa for boarding because she thinks they do a great job.
It appeared to me to be a very clean, well-run boarding facility.
The dogs even came home with a report card with comments about their time at the Spa.

I have taken our dog there for day care and a bath and found the place to be very clean and well-run. He came home clean as a whistle. I was shown all parts of the facility, including touring the outside yard. I came away with no ticks, and I'm not on tick meds!

What's wrong with people?? You've been going there for 2 years and now you have 1 problem and your never going back? That's the same as eating at a restaurant for 2 years and get one bad meal and the world is coming to an end. Most likely it was one of the other customers that brought the problem to Village Pet Spa. If you could also clear up whether it was fleas (which usually infest a dog) or ticks (which attach themselves and suck blood), because a dog usually will get ticks when they go hunting or are in a wooded area.

My dog stayed for 5 days over Christmas. Great place. No ticks. Would take him back there again...

We always used Pet Spa for our elderly boxer, Bailey, and she received TLC and we felt the staff really cared about each and every dog. Used them for two years. I would recommend them for any dog.
