The first time we were in TV (years ago) the sales rep told us we would have to have permission for the color we painted. We would not be allowed to paint a bright color nor could we paint the house a color the same as any other home on the street.

When they painted our home they switched the trim and the house color. When I checked the homes on my street, someone else had the same colors and with the trim and house color switched, it looks different.

Painting colors...is there a difference in restrictions north of 466 and south of 466?

There are different restrictions on lawn ornaments, north and south. It is stricter south of 466.

North of 466 is Blue.
South of 466 is Gray.

Sorry Gracie I couldn't resist.

The house looks like a turquoise color to me.

True story.

My father had a 1958 turqoise Cadillac on got a flat on the GW Bridge. He was getting out of the car and a woman rammed into the back of him.

She was wearing a Leopard coat, (the style back then), like a NY model. She got out of the car and yelled at my father "why didn't you have your blinkers on".

He replied, "if you can't see a turqouise Cadillac, how the he** were you going to see the blinkers.

Not passing judgement but the color is not appealing to me.

To each his/her own.

...REFRESHING.....

Thinking outside the box.......I like that.

I LOVE it !! The color screams "Florida" to me. Good for them.

Wow. Yeah that is a little on the aqua blue side for me. But have seen worse and actually did worse to a home we had many years ago. We made the mistake of using "blue jay" blue on a house ....the house was completely repainted the following week. LOL. Sometimes you just go whoa...nooooo. And I think we did it before the neighbors had a chance too! Again eye of the beholder. Someone will like the color or go...I can repaint it after I buy it.

So does that mean if your north of 466 you're a Yankee and if you south you're a Rebel?

Sorry Keith I couldn't resist either! :1rotfl:

Thats what I meant!

We'll be S. of 466A but definately a Yankee at heart although my wife would call me a "Rebel" (amongst other things). She does not always get my "humor" even after many years.

Well, it would be easy to give directions on how to find your house...

Humor wise we must be similar. I have been told that I have a dry sense of humor, and I guess they're right since I've left a path right up the middle of a person's head of hair more than once! http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/e...mileys-718.gif

...AL......... please go to OP (origional post) ( #1)

Quirky included the picture.....Simply CLICK ON the BLUE
wording that says "Properties of the Villages"

You may need sunglasses....
but IMHO that house SCREAMS "Flora-DUH"

...I actually LIKE the, shall we say, "whimsical" nature of the color choice.

Of course I also remember the finely crushed reflective glass that was
applied WITH the exterior paints, on COASTAL Florida homes IN THE 70's.
