I wear an Apple watch which reports falls to EMS, calls my family and keeps them up to date on my location. After a fall in 2018 here in my kitchen, resulting in a broken pelvis and damage to the sciatca., and 3 months in rehab facility. My son bought me the watch and I wear this watch constantly and in the shower and charge it up once a day. It is my life line!!

Buy either an Apple or Android watch capable of hooking up to your cellphone service. If you have a medical emergency you can press two buttons simultaneously and 9-1-1 will be notified, as well as other specified emergency contacts. Be sure you have 'Location' activated so 9-1-1 knows where you are.

If you have a key hidden outside, or keyless entry, contact your local First Responders to find out how to record this info so when your address comes up with dispatch they know how to enter your home easily.

Hope you never have to use this info!

Good advice. I will add if you have an Apple Watch it will call automatically,, without you having to push anything, if it detects a fall. I find my watch often detects falls that didn't happen. But, it simply asks, did you fall? Are you okay? If I don't respond in a short amount of time it calls 911.

I upgraded mine a couple years ago, and gave my older brother my old one. He has fallen in love with it, and he is not a geek. It is also very useful for tracking how far you walk, reminding you to get up occasionally and you can tell it to remind you when you need to take you medication. If you have heart issues, it can detect abnormal heart beats and report it. And on and on. It is amazing. I know they are working on non-poke blood sugar monitoring, and hopefully will have it in next years update, which will be fantastic for people like me with diabetes. It will remind you to take your meds (metformin or insulin) and warn when your blood sugar is out side of acceptable ranges.

It's an incredible time to be alive!
