Most of the challenges probably come from those who aren't on TOTV or have never used a roundabout. This video would be useful to have as part of the buyer or renter kit. Maybe the welcome wagon could include the link!

This is a very good video. It shows the proper way to exit from the center(left) lane. A common mistake I have seen is a car exiting from the left lane and crossing over to the RIGHT lane of the destination street instead of following the lane markings into the LEFT lane of the destination (like any two lane highway). The poor souls in the outside (right) lane almost get side swiped while properly exiting the roundabout.

It is hard for us to get used to making a right turn from the left lane.

Thanks for the link. I am a person who will follow the rules and I plan on attending any workshop that will help to ensure safe and responsible golf cart driving.

I think it's so sad to live this long and then be invovled in a golf cart accident that could be fatal.

The link was for the RAB brochure.

I like the idea of the e-book. But, um, if there were a lack of interest in these topics, no one keep would posting and reading them.

In fact, if you are not interested... um, why are you reading this?:read::p:laugh:

That is the way it is supposed to work but the trick is....when entering the RAB, always yield to any car that is already in the RAB. Those cars will always be ahead of you so when they exit the RAB, they will pass in front of you. That gives you the feeling that the car is "cutting you off" but actually, that is the way the RABs work. When this happens, it looks like a choreographed dance. A car goes in front of another car as they exit from the inside lane while a car travels around in the outside lane. This happens all the time.

Another trick to these RABs is to always make sure you are staggered with any car near you while in the RAB. I find I must adjust my speed if a car comes up beside me. I try not to let that happen.

If you are staggering, please do not enter the roundabout in front, behind, or with me. ;)

I believe this particular thread is a bit of a lampoon on roiund-a-bout discussions, but when serious opinions are expressed its all too easy to get confused if you go by those opinions you'll read on any of the RAB threads. Some are based on factually correct descriptions, but unfortunately some are based on opinions that are formed by a lack of understanding or "I know better" attitudes. You're better off if you use this brochure for your information or guide and take opinions with a healthy dose of caution!

Probably the same reason you get on here everyday, to see what's happening on TOTV....:)
