So after 32 responses, no one saw it. Amazing. After 26 years in the Navy and many tours on carriers, it could have been any number of aircraft. Atmospherics, altitude, speed, aircraft type, etc. can influence the sound you hear.

It’s classified, I could tell you but then I’d have to kill you

Maybe a custom cell phone ring tone?

I would say it was a Harrier Jump Jet, hovering with the nozzles pointed down.

It sounded just like what i heard at Eglin AFB. They were practicing for an air show.

We were walking into Lowe’s. You didn’t see it? It was plane as day, right there in the open, no clouds, bright blue sky, and It was moving very slow, it was a weird color too. I don’t know how a building could house something that big

The Villages is where the military test invisible aircraft.

Rumor is it was a Chinese spy balloon disguised as a jet

Closest fighters that would make that kind of noise are either F-15s out of Jacksonville (ANG) or jets out of Cecil Field or Jax NAS (F-18s?). I flew F-15s in the USAF. Was playing golf at TDS and heard the same. Definitely not A-10 sound nor the various theories being posted.

I think everyone heard it, how could you not? My husband was a pilot and seemed to know the make of the plane by the sound. He would have known.

IT IS ALWAYS REFRESHING TO READ COMMENTS. !? Thanks to all who participated. AND ABOUT THE NOISE? I am almost sure that I didn’t do it.
