Default A very very dangerous courtesy

We discussed this a long time ago, but it's worth bringing up again. Motorists who stop and wave golf carts across or through an intersection. BAD MOVE. As well intended as this gesutre is, neither the car driver or the cart driver knows what other traffic is going to do. Likewise, other drivers do not know that the cart has been waved across and don[t know to stop. Yesterday, I had "the passenger" in a car wave me across. Not the driver, mind you, but the passenger. The best thing for everybody to do is just allow the "right of way" system to work. This is a particular hazard at traffic circles where all auto traffic is expected to keep moving. :cop:

Yesterday, I saw a car wave a cart across the entrance to Palmer. The cart proceeded and almost got whacked by a car coming into Palmer faster than she should have been going. Fortunately, no accident but just missed. CARS HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY AND SHOULD NOT WAVE CARTS IN FRONT OF THEM PERIOD. It would be such a shame to have someone work their rear ends off for 35 or 40 years and come to the Villages only to get whacked in a needless cart accident.

Is it unrealistic, also, to expect golf cart drivers to adamantly decline the courtesy
that a car driver is mistakenly offering?
:dontknow:

I thought if you declined, you wouldn't be on the road, therefore not get whacked by the UPS truck.
