Question Shoes in the Pool???

Since when was it a thing to wear your regular flip flops or Teva sandals into the pool? My husband was at a pool yesterday and he told he watched a man walk into the pool area and get into the pool wearing his regular shirt, shorts, hat, and sandals. I am not talking about pool/water shoes but just regular sandals. Who knows what is on the bottom of those things. Why would you do that?

The guy being observed may have been joking around for some reason.

There have been times when I was passing a pool and went in with shorts instead of a bathing suit. Came out, drip-dried, shirt on, and carried on with my mission.

One thing for certain for me is that I would never go into any pool without footwear. Pool shoes or sometimes slippers are fine with me. Whatever was on the bottom of the man's shoes would have probably been on the bottom of his feet so the shoes aren't really an issue. When you have seen some of the nasty things that happen in or near a pool foot covering seems essential to me.

Haven't been in a pool since the COVID Virus started and I miss it big time.

Do you think everyone gets out of the pool when they have to pee?

Seems unlikely - that's really the point of wearing shoes?

If that guy thought doing this was funny, it's not!

"Pee" is sterile and can't hurt you unless the person has a U.T.I. It's the bubbles you have to watch out for! If you watched this season of "Better Call Saul" you'd see an example.

I would never wear shoes in a pool, and I always put a clean incontenance pad inside my trunks.
Just in case!

Use Charmin and you won't need those pads.

I really don't want to swim in your urine. Or worse...Water gets in your mouth, nostrils, etc. How clean are your body orifices. Exactly why we have our own pool.

My body orifices have been certified as 100% clean and sterile and undergo testing at least 2x a day. No worries.
