Yep, these 4”filters fit like a glove in the slot made for them. If it is loose then they have the wrong size. Nominal size 4”x16”x20”. Actual size 4-3/8x15-5/8 x 19-13/16

I've had reusable and it sure makes sense to create less garbage if you can. They do work, not a huge deal to clean out, but I personally preferred drying it fully before putting it back on.

I am interested in purchasing one. How much did your's cost?

It was $ 130.00 for a 4 inch thick filter.

I plan to purchase one. Our return air is in the ceiling (versus floor level in our previous homes), so the filter shouldn't be too tasked

Not sure what type of filter you are buying, but my handler takes a 16x25x4 and they are upwards of $25 at Lowes.

Dam, glad our system uses the 1”x20”x20” filters. Hope the system lasts a long time so it’s not replaced with one that uses the $$$$ 4” type.

Check out Amazon. You can buy that size filter made by "FilterBuy" in Merv 8 for $16 each in a 4-pack, or slightly higher in a 2 or 3-pack. Free shipping. They are high quality filters. They also have other brands.

I’ve had them for years. When they service my HVAC system, they just wash them, let them dry while continuing their service, and re-insert them. They pay for themselves.

If you have allergies, you should make sure that the reusable filter does a very high level of filtering. High level filters can filter out essentially all the allergens. Inexpensive filters just get dust. If you leave your windows bloused and the AC or heat on all the time and don’t have pets, your filters may stay remarkably clean, in which case you may need to replace them only once or twice a year.

Depends if you want actual air filtration or just going through the motions . . . . .

Home HVAC systems barely “filter” the air regardless of the filter you use. Relatively speaking, particles of dust, dander, mold, virus (yes even virus), pollen, shed skin cells and even hair from people and pets passing through any filter are Mack trucks.

Not even units like Dyson and others capture most of these things. The only home available method to most closely eliminate these pollutants is a patented technology used in filter systems manufactured by a company in New York, Healthway ( not Healthways). They make everything from portable machines the size of Dyson up to the largest in-line systems for clean rooms and hospitals.

And no, I do not own the company, you cannot buy stock since it is a private business and I am not a sales agent. These units just work better than any method to filter air in a home where air pollution is a problem or health risk.

Yes, mine are 4" thick pleated high-efficiency; $32 at Lowes Access Denied. Not bad since it lasts a full year! And much more convenient than having to wash a filter every couple of months.

Not so...if ordered in bulk (3-4 pack), they tend to run about #10 or less per filter (top line MERV). IWe change ours every 6 months and we have had no problems.

It takes five minutes to wash the filter. My reusable filter has already paid for itself. Yours will never do that.
