This is the only place I've ever lived in, where the "cost of doing business" wasn't built in to the fees you pay for the privilege of paying a bill.

I have no problem with them passing on their costs of taking credit/debit card on to those who pay with them. You can still have payment come directly from your checking account for no additional cost, which I have done since I moved here.

It would be nice if the new system actually worked. If you try and see your current bill all you get is a message telling you to check back later.

Thanks for the notice. I will look into it.

But, I don't click links in social media. Not safe thing to do.

Yes, but if you choose AUTOPAY (ACH) andI believe you have to go to their office for that, there is no fee. We’ve never written a check and always have payments auto-paid from our checking account without a fee. Maybe now they will start charging a 95c fee?

You can select autopay on line for no monthly charge.

Manually paying by check monthly has the. 95 free.

The $6 fee is only if you use a credit or debit card. But, you have to pay $0.95 to use an electronic checking account payment. Apparently, the only way to avoid a fee is to use autopay or to pay the bill in person? I have never had to pay a fee to make an electronic checking account payment. Bummer.

I never understand why people say this. When you give someone a paper check they see your bank's routing number and account number. That is the same info you give them when you pay online. How is that different?

Because a lot more people will likely see the paper check as it flows through the system. Anyone who touches it could snap a photo of it. Only authorized people will see the electronic information.

It is also why I will use a credit card at a machine where I can control access to my card. But, I never hand over my credit card to a restaurant server.
