What would we do without the people who make us laugh? :1rotfl:

If this was not the best place in the world to retire, I would not have retired here.

I just listened to them this morning from 9 to 11 and they have lots of spirit and musical talent. They put a lot of effort into providing a free show to anyone who's interested.

Gracie, put on your teacher's hat and tell me if this is correct: In my opening post I said, "Thanks again to whoever that was." I have a feeling I got it wrong so I went back and changed it to, "whomever".

Do I have it right now?....:024:

If I might step in with a little grammar lesson...

Whoever vs. Whomever
Rule 1

To determine whether to use whoever or whomever, here is the rule:
him + he = whoever
him + him = whomever

Examples:
Give it to whoever/whomever asks for it first.
Give it to him. He asks for it first.
Therefore, Give it to whoever asks for it first.
We will hire whoever/whomever you recommend.
We will hire him. You recommend him.
him + him = whomever
We will hire whoever/whomever is most qualified.
We will hire him. He is most qualified.
him + he = whoever

Confusing as **** to me.

Okay, so it's, "thanks again to him". I only have one "him". What do I do now?

No, wait. It's thanks again to him, whoever he was. So it's "him" plus "he". That means it must be "whoever". Whatever!

I get very guarded when someone has a kumbayah moment. Perhaps I am too grounded for my own good????

It doesn't matter. You are happy. They made you happy. That is what counts.

I agree with you! Whatever! It's very confusing and I've never been able to keep it straight. I had a book somewhere that explained it differently, and I didn't understand that either.:cryin2:

Someone asked for a grammar explanation, and I looked it up for him. How is that snooty?

So, indeed, there are some very kind and considerate people living in the Villages.

If I may be so bold as to butt in, I would prefer that your husband was about ready to go across the golf cart bridge in the golf cart, rather than over the bridge.

Also, I wonder was a meal part of the festivities at the Savannah center tonight?
Did they serve fish? :1rotfl:

The Villages IS the place to be!!! My outside pole light was staying on and apparently for awhile. Our neighbor greeted us and told us about how long it had been on. He sent me up to ACE on 466 to buy some kit, I came back with the kit and he installed it. I felt like a fool doing nothing but handing him a couple of tools. Saved us a few bucks. Point being is we'll all in the same boat and I look forward to returning the favor some day.
