then we did the tax estimate for lake county, fruit land park...as our villages realtor suggested we do.

with the bond $24900.....the yearly maintance fee for the local $630? and the county taxes, it added up to $7500 a year....thats $625 a month just for taxes...

Way too high for us, But it was a great home.

:ohdear:

MLS Realtors CANNOT sell new homes in THE VILLAGES.

A 250K home in Fruitland Park has an estimated tax of $3500.

I wonder why that some posters appear to be trying to steer people away from new homes here in TV.

I am NOT a realtor, I am not a sales agent. BUT I DO live here in The Villages and not down the street in another development.

.......some people can afford multiply homes...get over it....many others also come down from the north and want a winter home

I am a South Florida Broward County Realtor.....and I do know how to read a tax forms.

people with multiple homes cannot claim homestead exemptions, and are sometimes not over 65.

My figures are correct.

I also live in the Villages....lets get that straight. I love it but choose to use it as a vacation/weekender home.... No law against that...

We have an Iris model home for sale in Buttonwood. It is right between Sumter and Brownwood. It is a very nice home for which we have been told we will get between 320000 and 330000 dollars. We are selling it FSBO so we have some room to bargain. PM me if interested We have pictures and a video. I can send you the address and you can see it on Trulia and Zillow, :MOJE_whot:

We go to the squares often, but our house is about equal distance from Sumter Landing and Brownwood. We like being close to the grocery store! :icon_wink:

Which pretty much encompasses 30% of all the villages which pretty much look like the remaining 70%. I prefer darker skies, less traffic far away from the town squares.
