If you can't spend another mans wealth, why would you prevent him to attain it?

I think you missed the point of the graph. Or maybe not.

The graph is in sync with the information and technology age. It’s only going to continue. Unions are pretty much dead! You can’t organize, robotics, AI tech and data science. It’s a new world and I don’t see the income split changing anytime soon. Complex problem for the future generations for sure unfortunately.

Florida's minimum wage went up this year from $8.25 to $8.46 an hour. That is pathetic. Leave the bubble and take a look around. It's a disheartening view in so many places.

The chart in and of itself is only a slice of the information that describes the real status.

Percentage charts always leave room for questions.

What does the chart represent out of the total population?
What does the chart represent out of the total work force?

Etc.

Not at all. "You" can put any two lines together and make a conclusion.

Next to the union line, put changing life expectancy. Conclusion: Less union, longer life.

You are spot on. Correlation does not imply causation.

From my studies of various countries over the years, in general; with zero percentage unionization you get the survival of the fittest society, no regard whatsoever for the vulnerable, the sick, children, women, the elderly. With 100% unionization you approach Communist type economy, everybody is dirt poor. The optimal level seems to be around 30% in most countries where free enterprise is balanced with workers’ protection without stifling motivation and growth.

Why? So you get to $15. Every thing you buy goes up in price and you end up right where you started. Except, you've managed to put a ton of small businesses out of business because they couldn't afford to pay that wage. Those that could become the only game in town and have pricing power, so prices go up. A simple look at history is all you need.

BTW, love your quote because it sums up certain groups and media who want you to adhere to the party line as Orwell was stating.
